The Americans in TETRARCH are back, and subtlety is clearly not on the menu. Their new album, The Ugly Side Of Me, is a full-blown surge of rage, crushing riffs, and raw emotional outbursts. In just under 35 minutes, the band unleashes a shot of pure energy, unfiltered feelings, and hooks that stick in your head for days.

Les ricains de TETRARCH sont de retour, et ils n’ont clairement pas l’intention de faire dans la dentelle. Leur nouvel album, The Ugly Side Of Me, est une déferlante de rage, de son lourd, de confessions à vif. En à peine 35 minutes, le groupe balance un concentré d’énergie, d’émotions brutes et de refrains qui restent collés au crâne. C’est à mi-chemin entre un revival bien sale des années 2000 et une approche actuelle, groovy et punchy du metal alternatif.

Le groupe fait du néo-metal pur jus, et l’assume à 200 %. Alors que le genre a souvent été éclipsé ou moqué ces dernières années, TETRARCH, lui, y plonge à fond, sans complexe. On pense à Korn, à Slipknot, à cette époque où le mal-être adolescent s’exprimait en riffs sous-accordés et en refrains rageurs. Sauf qu’ici, c’est fait avec une maîtrise technique bien supérieure, une production soignée, et surtout, une sincérité qui crève les tympans.

Produced by Dave Otero, with Diamond Rowe and Josh Fore at the creative helm, The Ugly Side Of Me is a heavy-hitting, finely tuned beast. It grooves, it slams, and more than anything, it overflows with emotion. No gimmicks, no sugarcoating, just raw, in-your-face honesty.

The album thrives on contrast, catchy grooves meet dark atmospheres, crushing rhythms meet almost pop-like melodies. That’s what makes “Never Again (Parasite)” such a standout. It’s the first time Diamond Rowe steps up to the mic, and it totally pays off. Her vocals bring a sharp edge that plays perfectly off Josh Fore’s delivery, making for a killer back-and-forth.

Another obvious banger: “Live Not Fantasize.” Catchy yet gut-punching, it’s built for the pit. This track captures the album’s whole mission, to make you move, feel, scream, with zero filter.

Then there’s “Cold”, a more melodic cut that still hits hard. It’s icy, moody, and borderline unsettling, proof that TETRARCH knows how to build tension and let it explode.

Produit par Dave Otero, en collaboration avec Diamond Rowe et Josh Fore, The Ugly Side Of Me est un concentré de lourdeur bien calibrée. Ça groove, ça tape, et surtout, ça déborde d’émotion. Le groupe ne se cache plus derrière des artifices : tout est frontal, honnête, brutal.

Le disque joue sur les contrastes : entre groove entraînant et noirceur palpable, entre violence rythmique et mélodie quasi pop par moments. C’est ce qui donne sa force à “Never Again (Parasite)”, l’un des sommets de l’album, où Diamond Rowe pose pour la première fois sa voix, une prise de risque totalement réussie. Son timbre vient contraster avec celui de Josh Fore pour un duo vocal aussi inattendu qu’efficace.

Autre banger évident : “Live Not Fantasize”, un single à la fois accrocheur et viscéral, taillé pour la scène. Ce morceau résume bien l’intention globale de l’album : faire vibrer, bouger, crier, sans filtre.

Et puis il y a “Cold”, morceau plus mélodique mais tout aussi pesant. C’est glacial, presque malsain par moments, preuve que TETRARCH sait manier la tension avec brio.

She doesn’t just play, she carries this record, both as co-writer and performer. She’s also the first woman to have her own signature model with Jackson Guitars, a powerful statement from a musician who’s not just breaking the mold… she’s slicing right through it.

Impossible de parler de cet album sans saluer Diamond Rowe. Lead guitariste au toucher chirurgical, elle balance des leads courts mais aiguisés comme des scalpels, et prend désormais aussi la parole derrière le micro. Elle ne fait pas que jouer , elle porte littéralement le disque, en co-composition comme en exécution. D’ailleurs, c’est la première femme à avoir un modèle signature chez Jackson Guitars. Un symbole fort, pour une musicienne qui explose les codes.
