On me with no shirt on, the vulnerability cuts deep, almost uncomfortably so, while the punisher turns a toxic habit (doomscrolling your ex’s life) into a sharp, slightly unhinged confession that’s equal parts funny and unsettling.

On the flip side, tracks like delusional darling and the dumbest girl in the world lean into biting self-deprecation. She never plays the perfect victim, she owns up to her messy patterns, her delusions, her backslides. And that’s exactly what makes the album hit so hard on a human level.

Punchy, No-Filler Pop-Rock

Sonically, the record thrives on smart contrasts. Verses can feel light and almost sugar-coated before crashing into edgier, guitar-driven choruses. That push-and-pull gives the songs real bite, especially on american zombie, a razor-sharp take on emotionally unavailable guys, or 007, which comes in more confident and straight to the point.

LØLØ also knows when to dial it back. whiskey & coke and stuff like that bring in softer, dreamier moments without slowing the whole thing down. Everything feels tight, punchy, and straight to the point, no song overstays its welcome, and that’s clearly by design.

À l’inverse, des morceaux comme delusional darling ou the dumbest girl in the world injectent une dose d’autodérision mordante. Elle ne se place jamais en victime parfaite : elle reconnaît ses propres schémas absurdes, ses illusions, ses rechutes. Et c’est précisément ce qui rend l’album aussi humain.

Une pop-rock nerveuse et efficace

Musicalement, le disque joue sur un équilibre malin. Les couplets peuvent être légers, presque sucrés, avant de basculer sur des refrains plus nerveux, portés par des guitares tranchantes. Ce contraste donne du relief, notamment sur american zombie, satire acide d’un mec émotionnellement indisponible, ou encore 007, plus affirmé et direct.

LØLØ sait aussi ralentir le tempo quand il le faut. whiskey & coke ou stuff like that apportent une respiration plus douce, presque rêveuse, sans casser la dynamique globale. Tout est calibré pour être court, efficace, immédiat, aucun morceau ne s’éternise, et c’est clairement volontaire.
