Honestly, Synthetic Sympathy feels like the kind of album where you can tell the band went all in. Not just a good record, but the record meant to showcase everything they can do. As a result, it goes all over the place, but more often than not, it works in their favor.

Franchement, Synthetic Sympathy, c’est le genre d’album où tu sens que le groupe a voulu tout donner. Pas juste faire un bon disque, mais faire LE disque qui montre tout ce qu’ils savent faire. Et du coup, forcément, ça part dans tous les sens , mais dans le bon sens la plupart du temps.

From the opening track The Requiem: A Bipolar Nightmare, you can tell this is going to be big, dramatic, almost cinematic. It plays out like a futuristic movie soundtrack, mixing electronic sounds with orchestral layers, and it sets the tone instantly. Then Built To Fall comes in and it’s pure rock melodrama, huge chorus, huge production, and it just works.

One of the biggest strengths of the album is that almost every song sounds like it could be a single. The Law 112 is a full-on rebel anthem, RX Regicide is insanely catchy with Kellin Quinn, Pale is made for arenas, 21 Stitches hits harder but still sticks in your head, and Clouds proves they can also write polished, emotional pop tracks.

Dès l’intro The Requiem: A Bipolar Nightmare, tu comprends que ça va être grand, dramatique, presque cinématographique. On dirait une BO de film un peu futuriste, avec de l’électro, de l’orchestral, et direct ça met dans l’ambiance. Après ça, Built To Fall arrive et là on est en plein mélodrame rock, gros refrain, grosse prod, efficace.

Un des gros points forts de l’album, c’est que chaque morceau pourrait presque être un single. The Law 112 c’est l’hymne rebelle bien énervé, RX Regicide est ultra catchy avec Kellin Quinn, Pale fait très morceau d’arena, 21 Stitches c’est plus violent mais ça reste hyper accrocheur, et Clouds montre qu’ils savent aussi faire de la pop hyper propre et émotive.

The album really throws everything into the mix: nu-metal, pop rock, electronic, modern metal, even touches of J-pop and K-pop in the melodies. At times, it almost feels more like a compilation than a fully cohesive record. But somehow, it still works, mainly because the songwriting is strong and the production is incredibly clean.

That being said, the album does feel a little long. By the end, you start to feel the fatigue, even if songs like Inside These Lies and System Of Sinners bring the energy back. The final track Hide & Seek works perfectly as a closer, playing out like an end-credits song , calm, emotional, and a fitting way to close the record.

Le truc, c’est que l’album mélange vraiment tout : nu-metal, pop-rock, électro, metal moderne, un peu de J-pop/K-pop dans les mélodies… Par moments t’as presque l’impression d’écouter une compile plutôt qu’un album super cohérent. Mais bizarrement, ça passe, parce que les morceaux sont tous bien écrits et la prod est super clean.

Par contre, faut être honnête : l’album est un peu long. Vers la fin, tu commences à fatiguer, même si des morceaux comme Inside These Lies ou System Of Sinners remettent un coup d’énergie. Et le dernier morceau Hide & Seek fait une fin parfaite, un peu comme un générique de fin, calme mais émotionnel.

In the end, Synthetic Sympathy is an ambitious record, sometimes a bit overloaded, but incredibly well produced, very melodic, and it clearly shows a band aiming for the international stage. It’s not perfect, but it’s impressive and, more importantly, it feels genuine.

Au final, Synthetic Sympathy, c’est un album ambitieux, parfois un peu trop chargé, mais super bien produit, super mélodique, et qui montre un groupe qui veut clairement passer à un niveau international. C’est pas parfait, mais c’est impressionnant et surtout hyper sincère.
