On May 16, the Accor Arena turned into a full-on pastel ocean as TWICE brought their THIS IS FOR World Tour to Paris. Even before the lights went down, the energy outside the venue was already absolutely insane: ONCEs everywhere, decked out in colorful outfits inspired by the group’s different eras, glitter skirts, Y2K looks, pink and lavender accessories, and Candy Bong lightsticks glowing all through the line. Honestly, it felt like a mini K-pop festival out in the open. Between groups of friends covering TWICE choreos while waiting in line and fans trading photocards and freebies, Paris genuinely felt like Seoul for one night.

Le 16 mai dernier, l’Accor Arena s’est transformée en véritable océan pastel pour le passage de TWICE avec le THIS IS FOR World Tour. Avant même que les lumières s’éteignent, l’ambiance était déjà complètement folle dehors : des ONCEs partout, des tenues ultra colorées inspirées des différents eras du groupe, des jupes à paillettes, des looks Y2K, des accessoires roses et lavande, des lightsticks Candy Bong qui illuminaient toute la file d’attente… Franchement, on aurait dit un mini festival K-pop à ciel ouvert. Entre les groupes d’amis qui reprenaient les chorés dans la queue et les fans qui échangeaient photocards et freebies, Paris avait pris des airs de Séoul le temps d’une soirée.

The second the screens lit up and the opening notes hit, the entire arena absolutely erupted. TWICE came out with that signature perfectly polished energy they’re known for: flawless transitions, massive visuals, nonstop lighting effects, and most importantly, that real connection with the crowd that makes them such a powerhouse on stage. From the very first songs, French ONCEs were singing so loudly you could barely even hear the backing tracks at times.

The setlist was packed with some of the group’s biggest anthems like Feel Special, Talk That Talk, Fancy, The Feels, and Dance The Night Away, all backed by super clean staging and constant outfit changes. Every member had their moment to shine: the rap sections went insanely hard, the emotional moments had the whole arena in their feelings, and the unit stages gave the concert room to breathe between all the high-energy performances.

And honestly, it’s impossible not to talk about the live band positioned off to the side of the stage, slightly below the main platform. In huge pop productions like this, musicians can sometimes fade into the background, but here they brought so much energy to the show. Between the massive drum buildups, the live arrangements that made certain songs hit even harder, and the musicians vibing just as much as the crowd, it gave the whole performance a real live-concert feel. You could see them smiling, throwing their hands up, hyping up the audience during the choruses… their energy was genuinely contagious and made TWICE’s performances feel even more powerful.

Quand les écrans se sont allumés et que les premières notes ont retenti, la salle a instantanément explosé. TWICE est arrivé avec cette énergie hyper maîtrisée qu’on leur connaît : des transitions impeccables, des visuels énormes, des effets de lumière dans tous les sens et surtout cette proximité avec le public qui fait leur force sur scène. Dès les premiers morceaux, les ONCEs français chantaient tellement fort qu’on entendait parfois à peine les backtracks.

La setlist enchaînait les énormes classiques du groupe comme Feel Special, Talk That Talk, Fancy, The Feels ou encore Dance The Night Away, avec une scénographie ultra propre et des changements de costumes constants. Chaque membre avait son moment pour briller : les parties rap mettaient le feu, les passages plus émotionnels faisaient vibrer toute l’Arena et les unités donnaient une vraie respiration au concert.

Et impossible de ne pas parler du groupe de musiciens installé sur le côté de la scène, légèrement en contrebas. Souvent discrets dans ce genre de grosses productions pop, ils ont pourtant apporté une énorme énergie au concert. Entre les montées de batterie ultra puissantes, les arrangements live qui rendaient certains morceaux encore plus explosifs et les musiciens qui vibraient autant que le public, ça ajoutait un vrai côté “concert live” au show. On les voyait sourire, lever les bras, encourager la salle pendant les refrains… Franchement, leur enthousiasme était communicatif et donnait encore plus de puissance aux performances de TWICE.

One of the most emotional moments of the night also involved the member who had injured her ankle. Even though she sadly couldn’t take part in the choreography, she stayed on stage for almost the entire concert, seated on a tall stool at the edge of the stage so she could keep singing alongside the others. And honestly, it made the whole show even more moving because you could tell she was doing everything she could to still be there for the group and the fans despite the pain. She only stepped offstage during a few solo moments, except for her own piano performance, which created a genuinely emotional pause in the middle of the concert. Every single time the camera cut to her, the arena exploded with cheers and encouragement.

Visually, the concert was a massive pop spectacle from start to finish. Between the giant LED screens, laser effects, confetti blasts, and cinematic VCRs, TWICE once again proved why they’re still one of the strongest live-performing K-pop groups right now. And what made the show even better was the contrast between the explosive high-energy songs and the softer moments where the members took time to talk to the French crowd, thank the fans, and try out a few words in French while the entire arena screamed back at them.

The finale with YES or YES followed by Strategy absolutely destroyed the Accor Arena in the best way possible. Fans were jumping everywhere, Candy Bongs turned the venue into a sea of pastel lights, and nobody wanted the night to end. Even after the final notes faded out, ONCEs kept singing from the stands while the lights slowly came back on.

L’un des moments les plus marquants de la soirée concernait aussi la membre blessée à la cheville. Même si elle ne pouvait malheureusement pas participer aux chorégraphies, elle est restée présente quasiment tout le concert, installée sur un grand tabouret au bord de la scène pour continuer à chanter avec les autres. Et honnêtement, ça rendait le show encore plus touchant, parce qu’on voyait qu’elle faisait vraiment tout pour être là avec le groupe et les fans malgré la douleur. Elle ne quittait la scène que pendant certains solos, sauf pour son propre moment au piano qui a apporté une vraie pause émotion dans le concert. À chaque apparition de la caméra sur elle, la salle explosait en encouragements et en cris.

Visuellement, le concert était un énorme spectacle pop du début à la fin. Entre les écrans géants, les jeux de lasers, les confettis et les VCR ultra cinématographiques, TWICE a confirmé pourquoi elles restent l’un des plus gros groupes K-pop de scène actuellement. Et puis il y avait ce contraste génial entre les morceaux ultra explosifs et les moments plus doux où les membres prenaient le temps de parler au public français, de remercier les fans et de tenter quelques phrases en français sous les cris de la salle.

Le final sur YES or YES puis Strategy a complètement achevé l’Accor Arena. Les fans sautaient partout, les Candy Bong formaient une mer de lumières pastel dans toute la salle, et personne n’avait envie que ça se termine. Même après les dernières notes, les ONCEs continuaient de chanter dans les gradins pendant que la salle se rallumait lentement.

With this Paris show, TWICE once again proved that beyond the razor-sharp choreography and nonstop hit songs, their real strength lies in their ability to create such a warm, euphoric connection with the crowd. It was a colorful, loud, emotional, and completely addictive night, exactly what you want from a TWICE concert.

Avec ce concert parisien, TWICE a encore prouvé qu’au-delà des chorégraphies millimétrées et des hits en chaîne, leur vraie force reste cette capacité à créer une ambiance chaleureuse et euphorique avec leur public.
