For the very first time in their career, Three Days Grace set foot on a French stage, and it’s safe to say the wait was more than worth it. The venue is absolutely packed, buzzing with anticipation long before the lights go down. Conversations drop instantly as the first notes ring out; the crowd is already all in.

C’est un soir d’événement au Trianon !
Pour la toute première fois de leur carrière, Three Days Grace foule une scène française. Et le moins qu’on puisse dire, c’est que l’attente valait largement la peine. La salle est archi comble, bouillonnante d’excitation avant même que les lumières ne s’éteignent. Les conversations s’arrêtent net lorsque les premières notes retentissent, le public est déjà conquis.

As a playful local nod, Barry Stock steps onstage wearing a beret, a simple gesture that sparks a roaring round of applause and plenty of knowing smiles.

Right out of the gate, the band wastes no time: “Animal I Have Become”, “So Called Life”, “Home”, and “Pain” hit back-to-back with no breathing room, sending the pit into a full-blown frenzy. More than twenty years into their career, the formula still hits hard, made even more impactful by Adam Gontier’s return in 2024, which brings an added layer of emotion to this tour. The vocal pairing works surprisingly well live, blending chemistry and raw power.

The newer tracks more than hold their own on stage. “Mayday”, “Kill Me Fast”, and “Don’t Wanna Go Home Tonight” slot seamlessly into the setlist, already shouted back word for word by a crowd clearly up to speed. You can feel the band’s determination to push forward while staying true to their roots, leaning into a more modern sound, yet still driven by massive riffs and crowd-ready choruses.

D’entrée, le groupe ne fait aucun détour : “Animal I Have Become”, “So Called Life”, “Home” ou encore “Pain” s’enchaînent sans répit, déchaînant une fosse en furie. Après plus de vingt ans de carrière, la formule fait toujours mouche, d’autant plus que le retour d’Adam Gontier depuis 2024 ajoute une dimension particulière à cette tournée. Le duo vocal fonctionne étonnamment bien en live, entre complicité et puissance.

Les morceaux récents, eux, passent haut la main l’épreuve du live. “Mayday”, “Kill Me Fast” et “Don’t Wanna Go Home Tonight” trouvent immédiatement leur place dans la setlist, repris en chœur par un public déjà familier des paroles. On sent le groupe déterminé à renouveler sa formule tout en respectant ses racines : sons plus modernes, mais toujours ce goût pour les refrains fédérateurs et les riffs massifs.

The setlist also carves out a more intimate moment with “I Hate Everything About You”, reworked into an acoustic version by Barry Stock, before firing things back up with staples like “Time of Dying”, “Apologies”, and an unexpected cover of Radiohead’s “Creep”, met with a mix of surprise and genuine excitement.

Visually, there’s no need for over-the-top pyrotechnics: a bold, hard-hitting backdrop, sharp lighting, and Neil Sanderson towering over his drum kit are more than enough to define the band’s sonic and visual identity.

The night comes to a close with “Riot”, wrapping things up in perfectly controlled chaos, wall-to-wall moshing, an all-out energy release, and the shared feeling of having witnessed a moment that had been far too long in the making.

La setlist ménage aussi un moment plus intime avec “I Hate Everything About You”, revisité en acoustique par Barry Stock, avant de relancer la machine avec des classiques comme “Time of Dying”, “Apologies”, et une reprise inattendue de “Creep” de Radiohead, accueillie d’un mélange de surprise et d’enthousiasme.

Côté visuel, pas besoin de débauche pyrotechnique : un fond de scène massif et percutant, un éclairage précis, et Neil Sanderson perché haut sur sa batterie suffisent à camper l’identité sonore et visuelle du groupe.

Le final sur “Riot” clôt la soirée dans un chaos parfaitement orchestré. Pogo général, explosion d’énergie, et un sentiment partagé d’avoir assisté à un moment attendu depuis bien trop longtemps.
