The Canadian skate punk band Belvedere kicked off the evening at the Paris Punk Rock Summer with a crowd that was already pretty packed. Their energy was evident right from the start, especially on tracks like “Shipwreck” and “Closed Door.” Although the mosh pit was a bit shy at first, the smiling faces in the audience clearly showed their appreciation. During “Subhuman Nature,” you could spot a guy in the pit headbanging almost in sync with the guitarist. Every member of the band contributed to the backing vocals, earning cheers and applause from the crowd.

With “Two Minutes for Looking So Good,” a track they introduced as new even though it’s already three years old, the band showcased their humor and love for the French language, throwing in words like “fromage” 😂, adding a touch of comedy and candidness. The crowd really started to get involved with “Repetition Rejection,” bouncing along in rhythm as the venue filled up almost completely. Their cover of Bad Religion’s “Change of Ideas” was dedicated to the upcoming bands, sparking an energetic mosh pit. They wrapped up their set with “She Sells and Sand Sandwiches,” with applause for each band member, marking a memorable finale.

Leur énergie était palpable dès le début, notamment sur des titres comme «Shipwreck» et «Closed Door». Le public a vraiment commencé à s’impliquer avec «Repetition Rejection», sautillant en rythme et remplissant la salle presque complètement. Le titre «Change of Ideas» de Bad Religion a été dédié aux groupes suivants, déclenchant un pogo énergique. Leur set s’est terminé avec «She Sells and Sand Sandwiches», avec des applaudissements pour chaque membre du groupe, marquant un final mémorable.

Strung Out, the American punk rock band, took over the Paris Punk Rock Summer with “Future Ghosts,” setting the mosh pit on fire from the very first notes. Paul returned to the stage but didn’t give up on the idea. Shortly after, he plunged into the mosh pit, sparking a fresh wave of crowd surfing and moshing. This interaction added a personal and memorable touch to their performance.

La deuxième journée du festival a été marquée par une énergie débordante et des performances mémorables.

The punk rock band from China, The Noname, kicked off the second evening of the Paris Punk Rock Summer with a last-minute intro setup. Their opening line is a winning formula: “We are The Noname and we come from China!!!” The singer then asked on the next track: “Are you ready for some punk rock time?” The mosh pit started off a bit shyly but was definitely moving, and personally, I was dancing quite a bit.

The singer didn’t hesitate to involve the audience in singing along. Arms were raised high for the chorus. The crowd was very responsive to each song, prompting the singer to call for everyone to move together: “Listen (chorus) and then Sing together.” David, the singer from The Casualties, was at the side of the stage enjoying the performance.

The singer declared, “Punk for life! We want more power, more sound, more energy !!!” A cymbal issue was swiftly resolved in just 3 seconds, and the crowd eagerly joined in with loud voices! On the last track, the singer thanked the audience: “Thank you for being here, we’re so happy to play in Paris!!!” The audience clapped rhythmically as the drummer led them in the beat to follow. He introduced the band members and each name was met with an ovation! Even though they were signaled that their set was over, they continued with one last song, under a minute long, staying punk to the end.

Le groupe de punk rock originaire de Chine, The Noname, a ouvert la deuxième soirée du Paris punk rock Summer avec une organisation de leur intro en dernière minute. Leur premier titre est une recette qui marche parfaitement : « On est The Noname et on vient de Chine !!! » Le chanteur nous demande sur le titre suivant : « Are you ready pour un temps punk rock? » En fosse, ça bouge timidement mais ça bouge, et personnellement, je gigote pas mal.

Le chanteur n’hésite pas à faire participer le public au chant. Les bras sont haut levés pour le refrain. Le public est très réceptif sur chacune des chansons, et le chanteur appelle donc à voir bouger le public tous ensemble : « Listen (refrain) et ensuite Sing together. » Le chanteur de The Casualties, David, est sur le côté de la scène pour profiter du spectacle. 

Le chanteur déclare : « Punk for life! On veut plus de pouvoir, plus de son, plus de niak!!! » Un problème de cymbale résolu en 3 secondes plus tard, et le public n’hésite pas à donner de la voix ! Sur le dernier titre, le chanteur remercie le public : « Merci d’être ici, on est très content de jouer à Paris !!! » Le public tape en rythme dans les mains à la demande du batteur qui leur montre le rythme à suivre. Il présente les membres du groupe et c’est une ovation à chaque nom ! Bien qu’on leur signale que le set est terminé, ils continuent avec une dernière chanson de moins d’une minute, punk jusqu’au bout.

French hardcore punk band Broken Bomb took over the night at the Paris Punk Rock Summer with an explosive introduction. Right from the first track, “Kick Them All,” the singer Cédric jumped into the mosh pit! And for the second song, “Die for a Lie,” Cédric yelled, “Come closer, fuckers!!!” and went back into the pit to stir up the crowd and shared a few hugs.

On “Bombs Away,” Cédric apologized: “Sorry, I’m a bit under the weather and we’ve been on the road a lot, make some noise for everyone! Bombs away!” He once again returned to the mosh pit, showing his affection for the audience. With “Go to Hell,” he mentioned Motörhead and dedicated the song to those who want to hold them back.

For “Runaways,” he put on his biker gloves and asked the crowd if they were ready to cause some serious chaos, to which the audience responded with a massive “Yeah!” and energetically started moshing.

Cédric declared, “We fucking love you, we love you!” before kicking off “Broken Bomb Squad” as a call to relax and grab some drinks. On “Loaded to Fight,” he orchestrated a classic move: splitting the room into two for a massive mosh pit. With “Mucha Policia,” he called for a fucking intense mosh against the police, and the crowd responded with frenzy.

Dès le premier titre, « Kick Them All », le chanteur Cédric saute dans la fosse ! Et pour le deuxième titre, « Die for a Lie », Cédric hurle :   « Approchez-vous, la putain !!! » et retourne en fosse pour faire bouger la foule et en profite pour faire quelques accolades. 

Sur « Bombs Away », Cédric s’excuse : « Excusez-moi, je suis un petit peu malade et on a de la route dans les pattes, faites du bruit pour tout le monde! Bombs away! » Il retourne encore une fois en fosse, manifestant son affection pour le public. Avec « Go to Hell », il mentionne Motörhead et dédie la chanson à ceux qui veulent leur mettre des entraves. 

Pour « Runaways », il met ses gants de motard et demande au public s’ils sont prêts à foutre un maximum de bordel, ce à quoi la foule répond par un énorme “Ouais!” et ça pogote énergiquement.

Cédric annonce : « On vous aime bordel, on vous aime! » avant de lancer « Broken Bomb Squad » pour chiller et aller boire des coups. Sur « Loaded to Fight », il organise un classique : séparer la salle en deux pour un grand mosh pit. Avec « Mucha Policia », il demande un putain de pogo contre la police, et la foule répond avec frénésie.

The American hardcore band Ignite carried on the evening at the Paris Punk Rock Summer with a Western-style musical intro. From the track “Veteran,” the mosh pit was wildly active, with everyone shouting the lyrics. During “Poverty,” the singer Zoli passed the microphone to the crowd, who screamed the words back. Zoli introduced the band, saying, “We’re Ignite and we’re from California, and this is Ash.” Despite a guitar cable issue, the band remained unfazed.

With “Butcher,” Zoli reminded everyone, “We’re punks, we need to act like punks, get moving!” On “Let it Burn,” guitarist Kevin urged the crowd, “Paris, come closer!” and the audience responded with crowd surfing that rocked the venue. For “DDTG,” Kevin called for noise for the other bands, and Zoli invited the crowd to sing along.

Throughout “Embrace,” Ignite brought Manux on stage to thank him, and everyone applauded the organization. Despite running short on time to play “Fear,” they continued with an energetic set.

Avec « Embrace », ils font monter Manux sur scène pour le remercier, et tout le monde applaudit l’organisation. Malgré le manque de temps pour jouer « Fear », ils enchaînent sur un set énergique.

Fans at the Paris Punk Rock Summer eagerly awaited The Casualties, some even traveling from Guatemala. They kicked off with “Demolition,” and the crowd went wild. During “Written in Blood,” the pit was so intense that taking photos was a challenge. “Chaos Sound” prompted a circle pit at the singer’s request. With “1312,” everyone screamed “Fuck the police!” and I was shouting at the top of my lungs—you have no idea!

Through “Nightmare,” the guitarist Jake asked the audience if they were tired. The response was a resounding “No!” and the pit erupted even more. David, the lead singer, called for everyone to come together for “Ashes of My Enemies.”

During “We Are All We Have,” David handed the microphone to a fan to sing a chorus. For “Resistance” and “Tomorrow Belongs to Us,” cups flew high as the audience shouted the lyrics. On “Punk Rock Love,” David joked with a fan before diving into a crowd surf.

“Borders,” fists were raised, and I spent much of the concert next to the singer from Ignite, both of us headbanging in unison. I handed a beer to the guitarist who was desperately looking for one at the side of the stage.

Avec « We Are All We Have », David passe le micro à un fan pour chanter un refrain. « Resistance » et « Tomorrow Belongs to Us » voient des gobelets voler haut, et le public hurle les paroles. Sur « Punk Rock Love », David plaisante avec un fan avant de partir en slam. 

« Borders » voit les poings levés, et je passe une grande partie du concert à côté du chanteur d’Ignite, tous deux headbanguant à l’unisson. Je passe une bière au guitariste qui la cherchait désespérément sur le côté de la scène.

During “Running Through the Night,” David brought a girl on stage to wish her a happy birthday, all this, before she crowd-surfed into the audience. Then, David split the pit for a wall of death.

The set concluded with “Riot” and “Suspect Device,” where David called for all middle fingers to be raised in the air. The crowd screamed the lyrics to “Ya Basta,” and despite the heat, showed no signs of fatigue. For the final song, “My Blood, My Life,” David orchestrated an epic circle pit, and the birthday girl returned to the stage to wave the band’s flag.

A grand finale to a day of intense, unforgettable punk rock. The crowd continues to sing along long after the band has left, marking the end of a legendary set.
