The Marché Gare venue in Lyon, near Perrache station, is absolutely packed. I squeeze my way inside, it’s shoulder to shoulder in there.
The buzz is real: this is the very first sold-out date of the TSS + Revnoir tour. I was lucky enough to catch Revnoir’s very first show back on May 9, 2024, at La Boule Noire in Paris, and I’m genuinely curious to see how much they’ve grown since then.

Le succès est au rendez-vous, c’est la première date à avoir été sold out sur la tournée de TSS + Revnoir ! J’avais eu la chance de voir le premier concert de Revnoir, le 9 mai 2024 à La Boule Noire sur Paris, et suis très curieuse de voir leur évolution.

The night kicks off with Lafayette, a local band that’s been gaining serious traction lately thanks to some solid opening slots (notably with Resolve and In Other Climes).

For me, this show marks my first time seeing their new lineup, featuring a new vocalist, six months after Arthur’s departure, and honestly, he delivers.

I’m not sure whether these are brand-new songs, but this new voice clearly brings in higher-range notes and even reminds me a bit of Brian Johnson’s vocal style (AC/DC). The crowd responds enthusiastically, breaking into applause after every single song.

The singer, Olivier, is completely at ease interacting with the audience and teases a brand-new track, played live for the very first time. It’s a crushingly heavy song, blending clean and distorted vocals, and it’s met with loud cheers and roaring applause. The bassist is instantly recognizable with his long hair and stunning kimonos, tonight, a black-and-gold one. Behind him, drummer Flo wears his trademark big grin throughout the set; you can tell he’s having the time of his life. With the room so packed, I can barely catch a glimpse of the guitarist.

Next up is “Forever Yours,” an infectious track with a slow-burning groove that steadily builds. I read it as an unavoidable love declaration, almost a curse.

At one point, someone in the crowd yells, “Are we tearing this place apart or what?” The song starts, but a technical issue brings things to a halt. The band jokes around with the crowd, handling the delay smoothly before launching back in for real. The energy instantly spikes, the pit gets wild, bodies start colliding, and a wall of death opens up as the breakdown hits. It briefly gives way to soaring clean vocals in head voice, like a soft pause before everything explodes again.

Overall, it’s a genuinely interesting evolution for the band. The new vocalist adds a fresh texture, even if there are a few pitch issues here and there. Still, I can’t help but miss Arthur’s distinctive vocal tone just a little.

La soirée démarre avec Lafayette, groupe local mais de plus en plus identifié avec de belles premières parties (notamment resolve, in other climes, …)

Ce soir c’est pour moi la découverte de leur nouvelle formation avec le nouveau chanteur (6 mois après le départ d’Arthur). Et franchement, il assure !

Je ne sais pas si ce sont de nouveaux morceaux mais cette nouvelle voix apporte vraiment des notes plus aiguës, me fait légèrement penser à la façon de chanter de Brian Johnson (ACDC). Le public applaudit avec entrain à chaque fin de chanson

Le chanteur,Olivier, est à l’aise pour ses interactions avec le public et tease un nouveau morceau qui vient de sortir, joué en live pour la première fois. Un morceau bien lourd, qui allie chant clair et saturé , accueilli avec ferveur et de grands applaudissements . Le bassiste toujours identifiable avec ses cheveux longs et magnifiques kimonos , cette fois un noir et doré. Derrière lui le batteur, Flo, toujours grand sourire pendant les concerts, on voit qu’il s’éclate ! Avec le monde j’ai du mal à apercevoir le guitariste…

S’enchaîne forever yours, un morceau entraînant, au rythme qui avance lentement mais sûrement, que je comprends comme étant une déclaration d’amour inévitable, presque malédiction. 

« Un gars du public ON LA RETOURNE CETTE SALLE OU QUOI » le morceau démarre mais problème technique, les artistes plaisantent avec le public pour meubler avec brio avant que le morceau démarre pour de bon. Grosse énergie, ca se bouscule dans la foule, un wall of death se forme au démarrage du breakdown, puis un chant clair en voix de tête , comme une pause douce avant de reprendre

Une évolution vraiment intéressante avec le changement de chanteur qui donne une nouvelle texture, mais quelques erreurs de justesse. Je regrette un peu le grain de voix d’Arthur.

After a very short break, the night picks right back up. During the intro, the crowd chants TSS in unison. The audience is noticeably young — mostly in their early twenties (and wow, I suddenly feel old writing this). Their fanbase is easy to spot: heavy goth aesthetics, lolita-style cat ears, black lipstick, thick eyeliner, and short, sharp bangs. At one point, I even hear a fan speaking German, clearly someone who traveled just for them.

(I didn’t have the best experience the first time I saw Revnoir at La Boule Noire back in May 2024, but I’m genuinely curious to see how things have evolved since then.)

The band takes the stage to an instrumental intro. One of the guitarists sets his guitar aside and joins the lead singer on vocals, switching seamlessly between French and English. The first track features rap verses in French and English choruses.
Visually, the band fully embraces a Japanese goth aesthetic, pale skin, androgynous manga-vampire vibes. The crowd instantly loses it, arms in the air. I’m pleasantly surprised by this opening song and hope the rest of the set lives up to it.

Unfortunately, by the second track, it slips back into exactly what I didn’t connect with before: a Kyo-meets-emo boy band kind of feel, with heavily processed vocals. That said, just like last time, the crowd is completely all in, singing along at the top of their lungs, so there’s no denying it hits home with their audience.

This marks their very first French tour, and they’re clearly thrilled to be sharing the bill with Revnoir. Up front, fans know every single word, while some wave phone lights in the air, very K-pop concert vibes.

The band steps offstage as if for an encore, music still playing in the background. The crowd falls silent, waiting for their return.
When they’re back, a small circle pit breaks out during a heavier, more metal-leaning track, driven by an aggressive drum pattern, alternating harsh vocals and clean sections.

Très courte pause avant que la soirée reprenne. Le public chante TSS en chœur pendant l’intro . Le public est très jeune, la vingtaine (ouh je me sens vieille en écrivant ces lignes..). On peut reconnaître leurs fans qui arborent un look goth très prononcé, petites oreilles de chat à la lolita, rouges à lèvres noirs, gros liners et franges courtes. On a même entendu une fan parler allemand et qui semble avoir fait le déplacement juste pour eux !

(Je n’avais pas eu une super expérience la première fois lors du premier concert de revnoir a la boule noir en mai 2024, mais je suis curieuse de voir ce que ça donne maintenant)

Les artistes entrent sur scène, une intro instrumentale puis l’un des guitaristes pose sa guitare, et chante avec le lead singer, en français et anglais. Des couplets rap en français, et les refrains en anglais pour la première musique. Les artistes ont un look gothique jap clairement assumé, peaux blanches, un côté vampires de manga androgynes.

La foule est directement en délire les bras en l’air. Je suis agréablement surprise de ce premier morceau, j’espère qu’il en sera de même pour le reste du set.

Malheureusement, dès le deuxième morceau,  c’est typiquement ce que je n’avais pas aimé, un côté Kyo / boys band en version emo, des voix très trafiquées. Mais bon, comme la dernière fois, le public lui est a fond et chante à tue tête donc il faut reconnaître que ça plaît.

C’est leur toute première tournée française et ils sont ravies de partager l’affiche avec Revnoir. En tout cas les premiers rangs chantent toutes les chansons par coeur, certains agitent des lumières comme dans les concerts K-pop

Le groupe quitte la scène comme pour un rappel mais avec une musique en fond, le public attend en silence qu’ils reviennent . Petit circle pit sur un morceau un peu plus metal avec une batterie énervée, des passages chant saturé et des chants clairs.

An Electric Callboy intro, “Everytime We Touch”, blasts through the speakers to usher in Revnoir. One by one, the band members step onto the stage, and the crowd erupts. They kick things off with “The Pact.” The drums hit hard, almost overpowering, and the other instruments are harder to make out, but the crowd doesn’t hold back, cheering relentlessly. A massive, crushing breakdown lands early: they come out swinging. Without missing a beat, they dive straight into “Bang Bang,” and the audience belts out the chorus with full force.

Riding that same wave of intensity, the band launches into “Into Quiet.” The crowd sings along from the very first notes, arms raised high. The song’s interlude shifts into French, delivered almost like spoken word over the beat, before snapping right back into the chorus with the same explosive energy. It’s genuinely reassuring to see that this time, TSS fans haven’t cleared out after their set, some are still pressed up against the barricade, singing along to Revnoir’s lyrics word for word.

The momentum doesn’t dip as “Invincible” kicks in. A mosh pit opens up, crowd surfers start flying, and Max, the vocalist, does his best to catch them while still singing, breaking into laughter during a brief pause. He then opens up about his night terrors, setting the tone for “Night Terror.” The band headbangs in unison with the crowd to the crash of the cymbals as Max pulls his hood up, leaning into a darker, more macabre look.

Next comes “Snake,” the collaboration with Yung Zime and Vyper. The entire room claps along, and the singer calls for a wall of death during the bridge. Guitarist Robin takes a moment to thank Lyon, the first city to sell out on the tour, before “Revenge” kicks off, unleashing nonstop crowd surfing. Screams erupt after every song; the crowd is giving it absolutely everything.

Une intro d’electric callboy, everytime we touch, se lance pour introduire le groupe Revnoir. Puis les membres arrivent un à un sur scène, le public hurle !

Premier morceau : The pact. La batterie est très forte, j’entends très peu les autres musiciens… Mais le public applaudit sans retenue. Gros breakdown bien lourd, ils commencent fort. S’enchaine directement Bang bang, le public chante le refrain avec entrain !

Toujours dans la même énergie, le groupe commence à jouer Into quiet. Le public chante le début et tout le monde lève les bras en l’air. L’interlude du morceau est en français, un peu en slam sur le rythme, puis le refrain reprend avec la même énergie !

C’est rassurant de constater que cette fois tous les fans de TSS n’ont pas quitté la salle après leur groupe, et que certains sont toujours au premier rang et chantent les paroles de Revnoir !

L’énergie ne faiblit pas quand démarre Invincible. La foule commence un moshpit, du crowd surfing, et Max le chanteur réceptionne comme il peut les surfeurs en continuant de chanter, petite pause hilare. Il nous parle ensuite de ses terreurs nocturnes pour introduire Night terror. Les musiciens entament avec le public un headbang au rythme des cymbales, Max met sa capuche, pour un look plus macabre.

Ensuite vient Snake, le featuring avec Yung Zime et Vyper, clapping de toute la foule, le chanteur appelle à un wall of death pendant le pont. Robin, le guitariste, remercie Lyon, première salle à avoir fait sold out sur la tournée ! Revenge commence , crowdsurfing a gogo ! Hurlements à chaque fin de morceau, le public ne lésine pas en énergie !

When it’s time for the encore, the band steps offstage and the crowd unexpectedly breaks into a full “Happy Birthday.” Moments later, the band returns and “Crève” kicks in, keeping the energy right where it was. It’s clear how much they’ve grown since their first show at La Boule Noire. Their stage presence now feels natural and confident, yet they’ve kept those constant smiles, still clearly having a blast on stage. A wall of death opens up during the breakdown, before the song winds down into a calmer piano-driven ending in French, with the entire room singing along in unison.

“New World” follows, a softer track with a mournful, almost lament-like tone. As expected, phone flashlights light up the venue. Max stands alone on stage while the crowd sings the chorus back to him. It’s a song steeped in rage and despair, the kind that gives you goosebumps. The crowd erupts again as the rest of the band returns to the stage. The second-to-last song, “In Limbo,” one of my personal favorites, hits hard, chills every time the chorus comes around. The audience moves as one, arms swaying in a single wave.

Max thanks the crowd for showing up in such numbers for the band’s very first French tour, visibly moved by hearing everyone sing along to every song. The night wraps up with “20 mg.” The rhythm feels like a clock spiraling out of control. A circle pit opens, the singer jumps right into the middle while still performing, then gets swept up into a crowd surf. He struggles a bit to get back on his feet, and guitarist Robin grabs the mic, unexpectedly stepping in to cover for him until he recovers, sending the whole room into laughter.

The crowd chants for one more, but an Electric Callboy track starts playing as the band leaves the stage, drenched in sweat. No one heads for the exits, instead, people keep jumping around, screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs. It’s hilarious. Outside, the band takes the time to chat with everyone by the merch table — that accessibility is exactly what makes them so easy to love.

Au moment du rappel ,les membres sortent de scène et le public entonne un joyeux anniversaire pour le moins inattendu, puis les artistes reviennent et Crève démarre, toujours dans la même énergie. On voit qu’ils ont pris de la bouteille depuis leur première date a la boule noire, leur présence sur scène est naturelle et ils sont à l’aise. Mais ils ont gardé le sourire aux lèvres, ils semblent toujours autant s’éclater en live ! Un wall of death pendant le Breakdown, puis sur la fin de morceau plus calme au piano ,en français, toute la foule chante en chœur !

S’enchaîne New World, le morceau plus calme, sur le ton de la complainte. Naturellement le public allume les flashs des téléphones . Max seul sur scène, le public chante le refrain avec lui. Un morceau teinté de rage et  désespoir qui vous fout la chair de poule soyez-en sûrs !

Puis le public hurle quand les musiciens reviennent sur scène. Avant dernier morceau, In limbo, une de mes préférées, les frissons a chaque refrain ! Le public agite les bras d’une seule vague. Max remercie le public d’être si nombreux pour leur première tournée française et est touché de voir le public chanter tous les morceaux 

On conclu la soirée avec 20 mg. Le rythme est très intéressant comme une horloge qui s’affole. Circle pit, le chanteur rejoint le milieu du cercle en continuant à chanter. Puis se fait embarquer dans un crowdsurfing, il galère un peu à se remettre sur pieds et Robin, le guitariste, saisit son micro pour prendre le relais par surprise le temps qu’il se remette, et tout le monde éclate de rire . 

Le public hurle une autre, mais un morceau d’electric callboy se lance pendant que le groupe quitte la scène, bien transpirant . Le public reste dans la salle et bondit dans tous les sens en hurlant les paroles, c’est très drôle. A la sortie le groupe prend le temps de discuter avec chacun devant le merch, c’est ce côté accessible qui les rend si attachants !

It’s genuinely rewarding to be able to follow Revnoir’s evolution from their very beginnings. The growth is undeniable, their crowd keeps showing up, and we can only wish them continued success.
