First time ever at the legendary Lollapalooza festival, and I’m beyond excited. The setting is stunning, I’ve always loved the Longchamp racecourse. Honestly, it’s the perfect spot for a festival.

I’m in for two days of pure festival bliss. Shoutout to the team, they were absolutely lovely. The press area is super cute, and we were really pampered there. Makes working so much easier and nicer.

There were a few hiccups for photographers trying to get to the photo pit, but overall the whole vibe was smooth and enjoyable.

The festival spreads out across multiple stages and offers a ton of booths: diverse food options, merch stands, makeup, karaoke, even retro gaming spots. There’s truly something for everyone, whatever you’re into.

Off to the side, away from the buzz and crowds, there’s a “Wellness Zone” nestled in a little forest-y area. It’s got vegan food, awareness booths, relaxation spaces, and all things centered on self-care and community well-being.

The weather’s been perfect, the crowd is in party mode… all the ingredients for an amazing time!

Première fois pour moi au mythique festival Lollapalooza, et je suis excité comme jamais. Le cadre est magnifique, j’ai toujours adoré l’hippodrome de Longchamp. Je trouve cet endroit idyllique pour y organiser un festival.

Je vais passer deux jours de festival des plus agréables. Les équipes, il faut le souligner, sont adorables. L’espace presse est super mignon, nous y sommes chouchoutés, et c’est très agréable pour travailler.

Malgré quelques couacs pour les photographes voulant aller aux crash barrières, tout était plaisant !

Le festival s’étend sur plusieurs scènes et propose de nombreux stands : nourriture variée, merchandising, stand de maquillage, karaoké ou autres stands de rétro-gaming. Il y a de quoi faire pour tous les goûts et toutes les envies.

Une zone nommée « Wellness Zone », à l’écart du brouhaha et dans une zone un peu « forêt », propose tout ce qui est nourriture vegan, sensibilisation, relaxation et autres stands pour le bien-être de soi et des autres.

La météo est au beau fixe, les gens sont dans une ambiance de fête… on a tout pour passer un super moment !

I kicked off Day One by checking out Joey Valence & Brae. The duo didn’t pull a massive crowd on one of the two Main Stages just yet, but they really gave it their all trying to hype up the audience through interaction. The set was fun, and you can tell they’ve got serious potential for what’s next.

Je commence cette première journée en allant voir Joey Valence & Brae. Le duo n’attire pas encore une foule énorme sur l’une des deux Main Stage, mais il essaie de chauffer le public en interagissant avec lui. Le set est sympathique, le duo est prometteur pour la suite.

Then came my first big personal highlight: Lola Young’s set. I know her music a bit and I’m generally into it. But sadly… I ended up disappointed. Let me explain: she sings really well, she’s super sweet with the crowd, and the band is tight, no complaints there. But nothing really happened. By the third song, I was kinda bored. I don’t know if the festival setting just didn’t do her vibe justice, or if I had hyped it up too much in my head because of how much people raved about her… but yeah, a bit of a letdown for me.

Et là, la première grosse attente pour moi : le concert de Lola Young. Je la connais en surface et j’aime plutôt bien. Mais malheureusement, déception de mon côté. Je m’explique : elle chante bien, elle est adorable avec son public, les musiciens sont carrés… rien à dire là-dessus. Mais il ne se passe pas grand-chose, et au bout de trois chansons, je m’ennuie. Je ne sais pas si le cadre festivalier n’était pas fait pour que je sois réceptif plus longtemps à son univers, ou si je m’attendais à beaucoup plus parce qu’on me l’avait sur-vendue, mais c’est une petite déception pour moi.

No time to dwell on that bitter note, because the all-girl gang The Last Dinner Party took over the Main Stage right after. What followed was pure magic, almost otherworldly. Fierce yet gentle, the band delivered a modern take on rock with hints of a bygone (maybe even imagined) era. It felt like watching a witchy ritual unfold, with a beautifully nostalgic, hippie vibe, in the best sense of the word. We were all completely under their spell. A true moment out of time… but no chance to catch our breath just yet.

Pas le temps de rester sur ce goût amer, puisque le gang de filles de The Last Dinner Party enchaîne sur la Main Stage principale. Nous assistons à un moment suspendu, presque féerique. À la fois fortes et douces, les musiciennes nous offrent un rock moderne avec une touche d’une époque passée, voire fantasmée. On a l’impression d’assister à un rituel de sorcières, avec une vibe quelque peu hippie dans le sens noble du terme… nous sommes tous sous le charme. Ce concert est un moment suspendu, mais pas le temps de souffler.

Next up: one of today’s breakout stars. Get ready for flips galore! The whirlwind that is Benson Boone hit the stage with a mind-blowing performance. I honestly thought I’d be bored after two songs, turns out, I was completely pulled into his world. His vocals are incredible, his energy is super infectious, and yeah… watching him nail a backflip while holding a crazy high note? That’s just wild. And he makes it look effortless. Mad respect! Total knockout, we were left wanting more.

Une autre sensation du moment prend le relais. Préparez-vous à voir des saltos à tout-va ! Le tourbillon Benson Boone livre une prestation bluffante. Je pensais m’ennuyer au bout de deux chansons, et c’est tout le contraire ! Il réussit à me happer dans son univers. Il chante merveilleusement bien, fait preuve d’une bonhomie contagieuse et, évidemment, c’est toujours impressionnant de le voir enchaîner un salto avec une note impossible à tenir… et pourtant, il le fait avec une telle facilité. Chapeau ! Une belle claque, on en redemande.

To wrap up this amazing first day of the 2025 edition, it was time for the most anticipated show of the night: Olivia Rodrigo. The crowd showed up in full force for the most rock-infused pop star out there. The show was full of heart, her band looked thrilled to be on stage, and Olivia radiated pure joy, even as she made a good chunk of the crowd cry their hearts out with her breakup anthems. The giant screens were flashing visuals that really elevated the whole experience. Unlike a lot of big-name artists, Olivia absolutely nails it live, her voice was flawless, and there was no overwhelming use of backtracks, which was super refreshing. We ended Day One on an absolute high.

Pour conclure cette belle première journée de l’édition 2025, nous allons assister au concert le plus attendu : Olivia Rodrigo. Le public répond présent en masse pour la plus rock des pop stars. Le show est généreux, son groupe dégage la joie d’être sur scène, Olivia transpire la joie de vivre, même si elle fera pleurer bon nombre de jeunes filles sur ses chansons de ruptures. Les écrans géants balancent des visuels qui donnent une vraie plus-value au spectacle. Contrairement à d’autres artistes, Olivia maîtrise parfaitement le live, sa voix est impeccable et on ne note pas de backtracks à outrance, ce qui est très appréciable. On termine cette première journée sur une excellente note.

Day Two kicks off under another blazing sun. The “fake” Eiffel Tower is still a hotspot, with festivalgoers lining up for their selfie sessions.

Today’s schedule is packed, and things are moving fast. I caught the tail end of Almost Monday’s set, what I saw was fun and easygoing. No time to pause, because right after comes the highly anticipated EarthGang duo, performing on one of the festival’s “smaller” stages. And yep, forgot to mention it earlier, but Lolla Paris boasts no less than five stages! The Atlanta duo drew a super hyped crowd, just as hot as the Parisian weather, and delivered an energetic, high-vibe set. A killer way to start off Day Two.

La deuxième journée commence encore sous un soleil de plomb. La « fausse » Tour Eiffel est toujours prise d’assaut pour des sessions selfies par les festivaliers.

Le programme d’aujourd’hui est intense, tout va s’enchaîner. J’arrive pour la fin de Almost Monday, et le peu que j’ai vu était sympathique. On enchaîne directement avec le duo très attendu EarthGang, sur l’une des « petites » scènes du festival. Car oui, je ne l’avais pas précisé, mais le festival compte pas moins de cinq scènes ! Le duo d’Atlanta a de nombreux fans chauds comme la météo parisienne et livre une prestation énergique. Un excellent concert pour débuter ce second jour.

The heat is intense, and things only get hotter with Franglish’s set. The French artist delivers hit after hit to a crowd that’s already totally on board.

We also got to discover two rising stars: Ronisia and Merveille. Both young artists brought fresh energy with shows blending urban vibes, smooth R&B, and plenty of choreography. Really solid performances all around.

La chaleur est étouffante, et la température va continuer de monter grâce à la performance de Franglish. Le Français offre tube sur tube à son public, déjà conquis à l’avance.

On fera également de belles découvertes avec Ronisia et Merveille. Les deux jeunes artistes proposent des shows mêlant sonorités urbaines, r’n’b et beaucoup de chorégraphie. De très bons moments.

Time for a whole vibe shift, it’s Latin America’s moment. Colombian artist Feid turned the festival into a massive Latin urban arena. It’s not really my usual genre, but credit where it’s due: the show was tight and super effective. The staging was on point, and the crowd was all in from the jump.

Ce n’est pas du tout le genre de musique que j’écoute, mais il faut reconnaître que le show est bien rodé et efficace. La scénographie est travaillée, le public semble acquis.

Night falls over the city as megastar Macklemore hits the stage. What can I say? The show was phenomenal. Every detail felt dialed in, yet nothing came off as forced. We got the full package, emotion, celebration, lightness, depth, fire, visuals on giant screens, dancers, wild outfits… and then came the rain. Rain, carried by wind as powerful as the crowd’s singing and dancing. It all added even more intensity to an already electric moment. All in all, an outstanding performance.

La nuit tombe sur la capitale alors que la méga star Macklemore pointe le bout de son nez. Que dire ? Le spectacle est super. Tout est millimétré mais semble naturel. On a droit à tout : émotions, festivité, légèreté, gravité, flammes, vidéos sur écrans géants, danseuses, tenues de scène… et la pluie. La pluie qui s’invite avec un vent soufflant aussi fort que le public chante et danse. Cela rajoute encore plus d’intensité au moment. Un excellent concert en somme.

The weather finally calms down, just in time for the final headliner to fire things back up, none other than French megastar David Guetta. He jumps behind the decks and drops banger after banger. It’s non-stop hits. Whether you’re a fan or not, you know at least one of these tracks. David’s clearly thrilled to be there and grabs the mic often… maybe a bit too often, some would say. Between thank-yous, his excitement about playing in Paris, and a shoutout to the “fake Eiffel Tower” that he finds uncannily realistic, he shares little stories about how some of the songs came to life. It’s less of a set, more of a massive party with friends. The crowd moves as one, the vibe is nothing but celebration. And honestly, that’s exactly what we all needed.

La météo se calme, et la dernière tête d’affiche se prépare à réchauffer les festivaliers trempés : la mégastar française David Guetta s’empare de ses platines pour livrer tubes sur tubes. C’est simple, on enchaîne hit sur hit. Que vous écoutiez ou pas, vous ne pouvez pas ne pas connaître au moins un titre. David est ravi d’être là et prend souvent le micro pour parler au public… très souvent. Trop, même, diront certains. Entre remerciements, joie de jouer à Paris, avec cette fausse Tour Eiffel qu’il juge d’un effet de véracité troublant, et anecdotes sur la composition de certains titres, Guetta donne l’impression de livrer non seulement une énorme prestation, mais surtout d’animer une immense fête entre potes. Le public ne fait plus qu’un : l’ambiance est à la fête, et seulement à la fête… et c’est exactement ce dont on avait besoin.

The festival kept going with a third day, but sadly I wasn’t able to stick around.

Lollapalooza may still have room to grow and broaden its lineup for the French edition, but it’s already found its own identity. The setting is absolutely lovely. It was a real pleasure to be part of it, and I truly hope to be back next year to share it all with you again.

Le festival enchaînera le lendemain sur une troisième journée, mais malheureusement je ne serai pas de la partie.

Lollapalooza est un festival qui pourrait encore grandir et peut-être élargir sa programmation pour son édition française, mais il possède déjà sa propre identité. Le cadre est des plus agréables. Ce fut un véritable plaisir, et j’espère y être encore l’année prochaine pour partager tout cela avec vous.

Un énorme merci aux équipes de Live Nation et de Lollapalooza France, ainsi qu’aux artistes, à leur staff, à la sécurité et aux bénévoles.
