Kat Von D at the Alhambra: a gothic, raw, and magnetic night

Paris, June 16, 2025 – Alhambra.

Tonight, the Alhambra turned into a full-on gothic sanctuary. Between shadows, dim lighting, and a sea of fans dressed head to toe in black, the vibe was already locked in before the first note even dropped. And to kick off this dark mass? None other than The Prayers, fronted by Leafar Seyer, aka Kat Von D’s husband.

Paris, 16 juin 2025 – Alhambra.

Ce soir, l’Alhambra s’est transformé en cathédrale dark. Entre ombres, lumières tamisées et fans tout de noir vêtus, l’ambiance est posée avant même la première note. Et pour lancer cette messe noire : The Prayers, alias Leafar Seyer, le mari de Kat Von D.

THE PRAYERS – Chill, love & razor-sharp vibes

He stepped out dead center stage, flanked by two shirtless guys in black shades, each with massive crossed blades covering their faces. Behind them, the PRAYERS logo spins on the screen, and just like that, the tone is set. The crowd goes wild from the very first beat.

“Please open up your heart and let me enter in!” he shouts, and the pit answers right back. People are swaying, dancing, fully in it. Visuals flash behind them, adding spice to the already heavy mood, while Leafar delivers his words like dark mantras. He ends up on his knees mid-song, slips off his sunglasses for a second, and boom, a deep, honest gaze that makes you feel like he’s singing straight to you.

Even if you’ve never really listened to The Prayers before, it just clicks. It’s hypnotic. And the guy? He’s genuinely moving. He shares the story behind the project, shouts out his brother in the crowd, thanks the stage tech fixing his mic stand, he’s just pouring his heart out.

Then comes “Por Ti”, a love song for Kat. He turns his back to the crowd, singing in Spanish and English while portraits of her flash behind him. Total softie moment, cheesy, yeah, but seriously sweet. The whole crowd melts.

And then he hits us with: “Thank you for spending your hard-earned money to be here tonight with me and my wife.” The place erupts. People are screaming, filming, dancing like there’s no tomorrow. A killer opening act, intense, honest, and real.

THE PRAYERS – Chill, love & lames tranchantes

Il surgit au milieu de la scène entouré de deux types torse nu, lunettes noires et deux énormes lames croisées devant le visage. Derrière, le logo tournant de PRAYERS, et bam, le décor est planté. La fosse est en feu dès les premiers beats.

“Please open up your heart and let me enter in!” : le public répond direct, ça danse, ça ondule. Des images en fond de scène pimentent le tout, et Leafar balance ses textes comme des mantras. Il finit à genoux sur un morceau, retire ses lunettes quelques secondes, et là, regard sincère et profond , t’as l’impression qu’il parle à chacun d’entre nous.

Même si t’as jamais vraiment écouté The Prayers avant, ça marche. C’est hypnotique. Et le mec est touchant : il parle de l’histoire du projet, de son frère dans la salle, remercie son régisseur qui répare son pied de micro, partage un max.

Sur “Por Ti”, chanson d’amour dédiée à Kat, il chante une partie dos au public, tourné vers des projections de portraits d’elle. En espagnol et en anglais. Complètement gaga, et complètement adorable. Toute la salle fond.

Et puis il nous lâche : “Merci d’avoir choisi de dépenser votre argent pour être avec moi et ma femme ce soir.” Le public est en fusion. Ça danse, ça crie, ça filme. Une belle ouverture de soirée, à la fois intense et hyper humaine.

KAT VON D – Dark glam & heart wide open

The show kicks off in an unexpected way: “All by Myself” plays through the speakers while the clip rolls on the big screen. Sammi, the keyboardist, comes out first, alone… until Kat Von D emerges, black catsuit, flawless wig, and full dark goddess energy. The crowd goes wild.

She launches into “With You”, grabbing hands in the front row and beaming, “Paris, I love you so much, thank you for dancing with me!” She’s all in, and so is the crowd. The energy builds fast.

Then comes the first surprise: Ferras joins her on stage for “H.A.T.E.”, and the chemistry is off the charts. Their voices blend perfectly, and the crowd eats it up. He returns again for “Exorcism”, one of the show’s most emotional moments, with Kat taking her place behind the keyboard. Pure magic.

After “Por Ti”, Kat disappears behind one of the screens and returns without her wig, dressed just as elegantly but in a more stripped-back look, like she’s revealing a more personal layer of herself.

Each track brings a special moment: Sammi switching to guitar, the crowd clapping along instinctively to the first notes of “Running Away”…

Then, full ignition on “I Am a Machine”: the floor is jumping, dancing, shouting, Kat shines, and the whole place is in full trance mode.

ENCORE – Love, shadows & raised phones

For the encore, Kat and Sammi return for “Dead”, and every phone in the room shoots up, it’s one of her best-known songs, and clearly a fan favorite. Everyone’s singing like their life depends on it.

Then she goes, “Before we go, I want to invite my husband on stage.” And here comes Leafar. They kiss sweetly, locking eyes and grinning at each other before performing “Black Leather” (a Prayers cover) together. A real love letter, live on stage. They’re glowing — totally in sync, totally in love.

The three of them bow together, wrapped in roaring applause and cheers. A perfect send-off to a stunning night.

KAT VON D – Glam sombre & cœur à nu

L’ouverture est originale : “All by Myself” retentit en playback avec son clip projeté en fond. La claviériste Sammi débarque la première, commence seule… et là surgit Kat Von D, dans une combi noire moulante et une perruque impeccable. Le public explose.

Elle balance “With You”, attrape les mains tendues du public, lâche un “Paris, I love you so much, thank you for dancing with me!” avec un sourire immense. Kat est à fond, le public aussi. L’ambiance monte crescendo.

Sur “H.A.T.E.”, première surprise : Ferras la rejoint sur scène. Le duo est dingue, les voix se complètent parfaitement, et le public hurle de plaisir. Il reviendra aussi pour “Exorcism”, autre moment fort, très émotionnel, que Kat interprète ensuite au clavier.

Après “Por Ti”, disparaît un moment derrière un écran pour revenir sans, dans une tenue toujours aussi élégante mais plus brute, comme si elle se dévoilait un peu plus.

Et à chaque titre, un nouveau petit moment fort : Sammi à la guitare, le public qui frappe dans les mains spontanément dès les premières notes de “Running Away”…

Gros pic d’énergie avec “I Am a Machine”, où toute la fosse danse, saute, chante. Kat rayonne, et le public est en transe.

ENCORE – Amour, noirceur & téléphones levés

Pour le rappel, Kat et Sammi reviennent sur “Dead”, et là tous les téléphones s’élèvent pour capturer ce moment. L’un des titres les plus connus, et clairement un des plus aimés.

Et puis, Kat annonce : “Before we go, I want to invite my husband on stage.” Et revoilà Leafar. Ils s’embrassent tendrement, se regardent en souriant, puis envoient “Black Leather” (cover de Prayers) ensemble. Une vraie déclaration d’amour en live. Ils sont beaux, complices, et rayonnants.

Ils saluent le public tous les trois, sous une standing ovation. Un final à la hauteur.

Kat Von D delivered a show that was as beautiful as it was intense. Between her voice, the powerful visual world she’s built, her heartfelt words, and the clear chemistry with Sammi Doll (and her husband, of course), it was a total win. A night that leaves you with vivid images in your head, chills down your spine, and one clear thought:
Kat Von D isn’t just an icon, she’s a true artist.

Kat Von D a livré un concert aussi beau qu’intense. Entre sa voix, son univers visuel, ses mots touchants et l’alchimie évidente avec Sammi Doll (et son mari), c’était une vraie réussite.
