Get The Shot, Benighted & Glassbone : Riffs That Woke Up Paris EN/FR
EN
A Friday night, three promising bands, and one shared desire to bring the house down. Last October 30, Glassbone, Benighted and Get The Shot took turns on stage at the Alhambra, setting the capital on fire.
There was no standing quietly on the sidelines that night : all three bands were determined to shake the walls and push the crowd to its limits.

7:30 PM – Glassbone
French death metal band Glassbone kicks things off, setting the tone from the very first seconds with an impressive guttural scream on Testimony of Death.
Heavy guitar riffs, hard-hitting drums and deep, cavernous vocals : all the ingredients are there to get the night started. However, the atmosphere in the venue is still rather subdued. The crowd is relatively small for now, probably due to the several changes to the concert’s scheduled start time.
“Come on, Paris, wake up !”
After a few songs, a few heads start nodding and some hesitant attempts at moshing break out in the pit, but they quickly die down.
The band is struggling to get a reaction from the crowd, but vocalist Hadrien refuses to give up.
“Paris, are you still with us? “
Despite the mixed response, the band pushes on with determination, wrapping up its 30-minute set with Post Mortem Declaration.

19h30 – Glassbone

8:20 PM – Benighted
The venue has now filled up nicely, and French deathgrind band Benighted is getting ready to perform in front of a proper crowd.
From the very first scream on Collection of Dead Portraits, the pit comes alive.
“Good evening, Paris ! It’s been way too long since we’ve come here to cause some chaos !”
The message is clear : it’s time to get wild. The first moshpits break out, and the crowd goes absolutely crazy.
Despite the absence of Philipp on drums, who had to be replaced at short notice just before the start of this mini-tour by young drummer Iwan Straasheijm, the band delivers a powerful and brutal performance, living up to its reputation.
“Just because he’s young and full of energy doesn’t mean we’re going to go easy on him !”
And he certainly doesn’t need any help. Iwan quickly proves that he belongs on that stage, taking on the challenge with confidence.
“Every time we come to see you, you get a little crazier !”
Julien couldn’t be more right. Between circle pits and moshpits, the crowd is going wild, with barely any time to catch its breath.
As the set draws to an end, a minor technical issue adds an unexpected twist to the performance : Pierre’s bass strap breaks. Forced to play an entire song in a crouched position, the bassist doesn’t let it throw him off and keeps delivering his best screams !
Julien obviously couldn’t resist teasing him: “Aren’t you getting cramps ?”
When the crew steps in to bring him some duct tape, the crowd joins in, chanting : “The tape! The tape! The tape!” An unexpected and hilarious moment that perfectly captures the great atmosphere in the venue.
With the issue quickly sorted out, the band can finish its set in better conditions with Let the Blood Spill Between My Broken Teeth.
Forty-five minutes of pure brutality in front of a completely wild crowd.
After taking one last picture with the audience, Benighted makes an unexpected exit to the sound of Tunak Tunak Tun.
Paris is wide awake now!

20h20 – Benighted

9:35 PM – Get The Shot
And now, it’s finally time for the headliners. The Quebec band Get The Shot is here and ready to bring the chaos!
“Hello Paris, wake the fuck up !”
However, from the very first notes of Dominant Predation, the absence of former frontman Jean-Philippe Lagacé is noticeable. After sixteen years with the band, he parted ways with Get The Shot in May 2025. He has since been replaced by Matthieu Dhan, who now has to prove himself and establish his own identity as the band’s new frontman.
The crowd is more than ready, and the pit quickly erupts into chaos. The first wall of death takes shape, with fans charging at each other without holding back. Meanwhile, Matthieu is running all over the stage, which clearly seems far too small to contain all his energy.
“How’s it going, demolition city ? It’s been way too long !”
The crowd’s screams say it all : everyone’s thrilled to have the band back. The reception couldn’t be better !
The band then asks how many people are attending their very first Get The Shot show before inviting a fan up on stage. She’s soon joined by around ten crowdsurfers. Bodies fly over the crowd one after another, while stage dives keep coming non-stop. The whole venue is caught up in the madness, until Matthieu decides to join in himself, diving into the crowd for a little swim.

21h35 – Get The Shot
« Hello Paris, wake the fuck up ! »

“Yo Paris, how’s it going ? Open your fucking ears !”
Released on October 23, the band’s new EP, Crucifixion Depiction, marks a new chapter for the band, now featuring a new vocalist. Matthieu reminds the crowd that this tour is all about promoting the new release.
“For everyone who knows Get The Shot, it’s time for a fucking wall of death ! Clear the floor all the way to the sound booth !”
As Blackened Sun kicks in, the pit instantly splits in two. At the band’s signal, both sides charge towards each other in an explosion of energy.
“Paris, are you still with us ? I wanna see as much action as possible !”
The crowd doesn’t need telling twice ! Another wave of energy takes over the pit. After yet another circle pit, crowdsurfers start pouring onto the stage, while Matthieu once again decides to dive into the crowd and enjoy a little crowd-surfing himself.
The band then asks everyone to move closer to the stage. The front rows fill up in seconds, and the crowd gradually packs tighter together, creating a massive sea of people right in front of the band.

« Yo Paris comment ça va? Ouvrez vos tabernacles d’oreilles ! »

“The next song was written because the world was fucked up, and we’re playing it tonight because the world is still fucked up. And the youth says fuck the far right !”
A political statement that comes as no surprise, but is greeted with enthusiasm by the crowd. A massive moshpit breaks out during Erase The Scum. In the middle of the chaos, a forest of middle fingers rises in the air to the sound of Dany chanting “Die! Die! Die!”
“We stand with the youth !”
During Torture Your Corpse, a young boy makes his way onto the stage, guitar in hand. Crushing riffs, plenty of charisma and non-stop headbanging : Menz instantly fits right in alongside the band and helps set the Alhambra ablaze.
“Paris ! We’ve only got one song left ! Thank you so much for being here tonight ! Make some noise for yourselves, for Glassbone and for Benighted !”
Get The Shot wraps up its set with Deathbound. For one last ride, Matthieu dives into the crowd once again as he keeps singing, carried by an audience that clearly has no intention of letting the night come to an end.
FR
Die! Die!
Get The Shot achève son set avec Deathbound.

An hour of music, fighting and sweat. The band finally leaves the stage to the sound of Je dois m’en aller by Niagara, after taking the time to hand out guitar picks and setlists to fans in the front rows.
The crowd was clearly won over. As for me, I have mixed feelings. It was my first time seeing Get The Shot live, and I had high expectations for this show. My conclusion is that I wish I had seen them before Jean-Philippe’s departure. I really should have, as his absence was felt throughout the entire set.
