Sold-out crowd, beers sloshing over the rims of plastic cups, and the front rows already packed tight before the band even hits the stage, the vibe is set at L’Alhambra this May 6. Dynamite Shakers storm onstage without wasting a second and instantly prove why they’ve built such a strong live reputation over the past few years.

Led by Elouan Davy on vocals and guitar, Lila-Rose Attard on bass and vocals, Calvin Tulet on guitar, and François Rocheteau on drums, the quartet from Vendée delivers a high-strung, loud, all-out performance that’s impossible to look away from.

Salle comble, bières qui débordent des gobelets et premiers rangs déjà compressés avant même l’arrivée du groupe : l’ambiance est posée à L’Alhambra ce 6 mai. Dynamite Shakers débarque sur scène sans perdre une seconde et prouve immédiatement pourquoi le groupe s’est taillé une solide réputation live ces dernières années.

Porté par Elouan Davy au chant et à la guitare, Lila-Rose Attard à la basse et au chant, Calvin Tulet à la guitare et François Rocheteau à la batterie, le quatuor vendéen livre un concert tendu, bruyant, ultra généreux et surtout impossible à lâcher des yeux.

The show kicks off to a wave of applause with “Ticket Girl”. The second the band steps onstage, the place just blows up. Dynamite Shakers immediately bring that raw, off-the-cuff energy that makes great live rock bands. They roll straight into “Cinéma”, I loved it, followed by “I Can’t Wait For You” off their debut album. And honestly, that first record still hits just as hard live: the crowd’s clapping along, shouting the choruses, and feeding off every tempo change. When “6h10” drops, it’s total chaos. Up front, people are jumping all over the place while François Rocheteau is absolutely pounding the drums with insane power.

The band then throws in a surprise cover of “C’est comme ça” by Les Rita Mitsouko. As a fan of theirs, I couldn’t have been happier. The song keeps all its wild, irreverent spirit, fitting perfectly with the Dynamite Shakers vibe. During “Get Lost”, Lila-Rose Attard gives a heartfelt shoutout to the guitarist from the opening band, mentioning he’s her little brother, a sweet, genuine moment in an otherwise full-throttle set.

On “Bleu Nuit”, Calvin Tulet fully steps into guitar hero mode: flawless stance, razor-sharp riffs, intense stare… you just can’t take your eyes off him. Then comes “The Bell Behind the Door”, the latest track from their newest album, and at that point, the crowd completely loses it. The guitars crank up another notch, and the pit turns into an all-out whirlwind.

Le concert s’ouvre sous les applaudissements avec “Ticket Girl”. À peine le groupe entre-t-il sur scène que la salle explose déjà. Les Dynamite Shakers dégagent immédiatement cette énergie brute et spontanée qui fait les grands groupes de rock live. Ils enchaînent avec “Cinéma”,  j’ai adoré, puis “I Can’t Wait For You”, issu de leur premier album. Et franchement, ce premier disque est toujours aussi cool sur scène : le public applaudit en rythme, chante les refrains et répond à chaque accélération du groupe. Sur “6h10”, c’est l’hystérie totale. Devant la scène, ça saute dans tous les sens tandis que François Rocheteau martèle sa batterie avec une puissance impressionnante.

Le groupe surprend ensuite avec une reprise de “C’est comme ça” de Les Rita Mitsouko. Étant fan des Rita, impossible de ne pas être ravie. Le morceau garde toute sa folie et son côté irrévérencieux, parfaitement adapté à l’univers des Dynamite Shakers. Pendant “Get Lost”, Lila-Rose Attard fait une dédicace pleine de tendresse au guitariste du premier groupe de la soirée, précisant qu’il s’agit de son petit frère. Un joli moment de complicité dans un concert pourtant mené tambour battant.

Sur “Bleu Nuit”, Calvin Tulet affiche une vraie attitude de guitar hero : posture impeccable, riffs acérés, regard noir… impossible de décrocher les yeux de lui. Puis arrive “The Bell Behind the Door”, le dernier titre du dernier album. Et là, le public devient complètement fou. Les guitares montent encore d’un cran et la fosse se transforme en véritable tourbillon.

The band then dives back into their influences with a cover of “Hot Stumps” by The Controllers, gritty, urgent, and seriously effective. “Équipage Ravage” keeps that wave of euphoria going before Lila-Rose turns to the crowd: “Thanks so much for coming out, sold out tonight, we love Paris!” The place erupts in a massive cheer.

On “Ridiculous”, what really stands out is Lila-Rose Attard’s vocal part, absolutely captivating. Her voice adds real depth to the track. The mood then shifts completely with “The Gates to That Sweet Song of Yours”. Elouan Davy introduces it with, “This one’s a little ballad… actually, it’s the only one we’ve got.” Lila-Rose swaps her bass for an acoustic guitar and reveals a soft, almost angelic voice, a beautiful, suspended moment in the middle of an all-out rock storm.

Before “Blow My Mind”, the bassist thanks all the tour crew, sparking another round of applause across the room. Then comes “Nightclub”. Elouan announces it’s the last song, and instantly the crowd gives it everything they’ve got. Probably one of my favorite tracks of the night, intense, edgy, and absolutely killer live.

But of course, no one’s ready to leave. The band comes back out for an explosive encore with “Juste pour toi”. The entire Alhambra shouts in unison, “Encore un dernier verre!!!”, total shared moment between band and crowd. Finally, “What’s Going On?” wraps up the night perfectly, closing out an electrifying show.

Le groupe replonge ensuite dans ses influences avec une reprise de “Hot Stumps” par The Controllers. Une reprise sale, urgente et terriblement efficace. “Équipage Ravage” prolonge cette euphorie générale avant que Lila-Rose lance au public : « Merci beaucoup d’être venus, c’est complet ce soir, on adore Paris ! » Une déclaration accueillie par une immense ovation.

Sur “Ridiculous”, je retiens surtout le passage vocal de Lila-Rose Attard, absolument captivant. Sa voix apporte une vraie profondeur au morceau. Le concert change ensuite totalement d’atmosphère avec “The Gates to That Sweet Song of Yours”. Elouan Davy annonce alors : « Celle-là c’est une petite balade… c’est la seule qu’on ait d’ailleurs. » Lila-Rose troque sa basse contre une guitare acoustique et dévoile une voix douce et presque angélique. Un très beau moment suspendu au milieu de cette tempête rock.

Avant “Blow My Mind”, la bassiste remercie tous les techniciens de la tournée, déclenchant une nouvelle salve d’applaudissements dans la salle. Puis vient “Nightclub”. Elouan annonce que c’est le dernier morceau et immédiatement le public donne tout. Sans doute l’un de mes titres préférés de la soirée : intense, nerveux, imparable en live.

Mais évidemment, personne ne veut quitter la salle. Le groupe revient alors pour un rappel explosif avec “Juste pour toi”. Tout l’Alhambra hurle en chœur : « Encore un dernier verre !!! » dans une communion totale. Enfin, “What’s Going On?” vient clôturer parfaitement cette soirée électrique.

The lights come back on, the amps finally stop roaring, but one thing is clear: Dynamite Shakers are proving show after show that they’re probably one of the most exciting French rock bands out there right now.

Les lumières se rallument, les amplis cessent enfin de gronder, mais une chose reste évidente : Dynamite Shakers confirme concert après concert qu’il est probablement l’un des groupes rock français les plus excitants du moment.
