Belgian progressive stoner rock band My Diligence opened the evening with palpable energy. The room was full and receptive, heads bobbing rhythmically from the first notes of their opening track, “Death”. The crowd is in communion, immersed in an atmosphere of intense headbanging.

The second track, “Horses”, suffers from a lack of volume on Cedric Fontaine‘s microphone, but despite this, his vocal power shines through. A technician also quickly intervenes to solve a pedal problem, allowing the band to get back into the swing of things.

The pit is quiet, not for lack of enthusiasm, but because it’s in a trance, totally immersed in the music. On stage, My Diligence are energetic and show that they belong, enjoying every moment.

My Diligence, groupe belge de rock stoner progressif, a ouvert la soirée avec une énergie palpable. La salle est pleine et réceptive, les têtes bougent en rythme dès les premières notes de leur premier titre, “Death“. La foule est en communion, plongée dans une ambiance de headbanging intense.

Le deuxième morceau, “Horses“, souffre d’un manque de volume du micro  de Cédric Fontaine, mais malgré cela, sa puissance vocale transparaît. Un technicien intervient également  rapidement pour résoudre un problème de pédale, permettant au groupe de reprendre de plus belle.

La fosse est calme, non par manque d’enthousiasme, mais parce qu’elle est en transe, totalement immergée dans la musique. Sur scène, My Diligence est énergique et démontre qu’ils sont à leur place, appréciant chaque instant.

With “The Matter”, Gabriel Marlier kicks things off with heavy, gut-wrenching percussion. François Peeters stimulates the crowd, perhaps to wake them up or simply to pause in his own trance. Cédric‘s vocals hypnotize, while Gabriel impresses with his technique and powerful drumming. The audience is spellbound, swaying with eyes closed, while the guitarists go wild, creating a vibrant, intense atmosphere.

“Auspicious” gets off to a gentle start, offering a brief respite before picking up speed again. By the end of the song, the audience is cheering the band on, visibly won over.

Finally, “Allodi” closes the set to enthusiastic applause. My Diligence leave the stage with the audience completely won over, applauding wildly.

Enfin, “Allodi” clôture le set sous des applaudissements enthousiastes. My Diligence quitte la scène avec le public complètement conquis, applaudissant à tout rompre.

DVNE, a progressive metal rock band from Edinburgh, take over, opening their set with “Sì-XIV”.

From the very first notes, the audience is captivated, even the sound and light engineers stand up and move to the rhythm of the music. 

Members of My Diligence join the side of the stage to headbang with the audience, amplifying the electric atmosphere.

The bass solo is particularly appreciated, eliciting cheers.

“Reliquary” is an immediate hit, followed by “Abode of the Perfect Soul”, my personal favorite. The pit moves even more, and at the end of the song, the band applauds the audience, grateful for the shared energy.

Dès les premières notes, le public est captivé, même les ingénieurs son et lumière se lèvent et bougent au rythme de la musique. 

Des membres de My Diligence rejoignent le côté de la scène pour headbanger avec le public, amplifiant l’ambiance électrique.

Le solo de basse est particulièrement apprécié, déclenchant des acclamations.

“Reliquary” rencontre un succès immédiat, suivi de “Abode of the Perfect Soul“, ma préférée. La fosse bouge encore plus, et à la fin du morceau, le groupe applaudit le public, reconnaissant de l’énergie partagée.

On “Plērōma”, Maxime Keller communicates a lot with the audience, while drummer Dudley Tait impresses by screaming the lyrics while tapping with unheard-of intensity. One wonders when he breathes!

For “Sarmatæ”, Dan Barter thanks My Diligence and Alex, the bassist on his last night with the band, adding an emotional touch to the set. It’s the song that got me moving the most, the most energetic of the evening.

The audience applauded for long minutes, showing their gratitude.

Pour “Sarmatæ“, Dan Barter remercie My Diligence et Alex, le bassiste qui fait son dernier soir avec le groupe, ajoutant une touche émotive au set. C’est la chanson qui m’a fait le plus bouger, la plus énergique de la soirée.

Le public les applaudit de longues minutes, démontrant leur gratitude.

The encore, “Of Blade and Carapace”, sees the whole of My Diligence gather at the side of the stage to enjoy this final moment. The pit explodes, giving their all for this final stretch. The song begins with redoubled intensity, the sharp riffs and pounding percussion invading the space, propelling the energy to its climax. The audience, for its part, responds with tenfold energy, movements are frenetic, voices rise to accompany the artists. The audience is literally transported by this final bouquet.

As they leave the stage, DVNE check and hug the members of My Diligence, all smiles. 

Once back in the backstage, they howl with joy – a too-cute ending to a memorable evening. The bond between the two bands and the audience is palpable, testifying to a successful evening where music transcended genre boundaries to create an unforgettable experience.
