In the tight space of this boat venue, To the Grave, Cabal, Varials, and Signs of the Swarm unleashed a storm of sound and fury. The crowd, fired up and ready for anything, went all out to let loose. Le 28 octobre 2024, c’était Chaos sur la Péniche du Petit Bain pour une soirée de métal brut où chaque riff et chaque cri ont résonné jusqu’aux fondations de la scène parisienne. Dans l’espace confiné de cette embarcation, To the Grave, Cabal, Varials et Signs of the Swarm ont déversé une avalanche de sons et de fureur. Le public, chauffé à blanc, était prêt à tout pour se défouler. TO THE GRAVE 🐽 – AUSTRALIA, 2010

The chaos kicks off right from the first track. Frontman Dave Evans storms in wearing a pig mask, and the pit instantly turns into a war zone. He pulls off the mask, but the voice and charisma remain rock solid. The crowd’s energy explodes, and everyone’s all in. No holding back: “I want blood on the stage!” That’s all it takes to trigger a furious two-step, and the pit turns into a riot. Between songs, Dave reminds everyone to respect their neighbors while pushing them to go all out. Before you know it, a huge circle pit opens up in seconds. Despite a minor technical issue, the frontman keeps the crowd hyped, and we get an insane final feature. Special shoutout for the Jaws intro music, which cranked up the tension a notch before a genuine thank-you to the crowd. And to close the set? They throw us heart signs, like tough guys with soft spots. Chaos on the Boat brings its own moments of emotion too.

Le chaos commence sans attendre dès le premier morceau. Le chanteur , Dave Evans arrive masqué en cochon, et la fosse se transforme immédiatement en champ de bataille. Il retire le masque, mais la voix et le charisme restent intacts. L’énergie du public explose, et tout le monde est déjà à fond. Pas de demi-mesure : « Je veux du sang jusqu’à la scène ! » Ça suffit pour lancer un two-step furieux, et la fosse devient une émeute. Entre deux morceaux, Dave rappelle qu’il faut respecter son voisin tout en le poussant à se déchaîner. Ni une ni deux, un énorme circle pit s’ouvre en un instant. Malgré un petit souci technique, le frontman garde la foule motivée, et on a droit à un feat final qui est juste incroyable. Mention spéciale pour l’intro à la musique des Dents de la Mer, qui fait grimper la tension d’un cran avant un dernier remerciement sincère pour le public. Et pour clore le set ? Ils nous envoient des cœurs, comme des durs au cœur tendre. Chaos sur la Péniche, c’est aussi des moments d’émotion.

Danish brutality takes the stage, and Chaos on the Péniche shifts into a whole new gear. Cabal blasts into their first track with pure intensity, and the pace doesn’t let up for a second. Every song hits like a punch, and frontman Andreas Paarup takes a moment to declare his love for Paris, urging the crowd to push even harder. The audience delivers, with non-stop mosh after mosh – an easy 10/10! Andreas asks who’s seen them before, and hands shoot up everywhere. He passes the mic to a guy in the pit, who screams the final chorus along with him. New song? The crowd demands more, and another circle pit erupts. At the end of the track, they call for a wall of death, and Paris delivers. It’s chaos, but it’s a beautiful sight.

CABAL – COPENHAGUE, 2015

La brutalité danoise entre en scène et Chaos sur la Péniche prend une nouvelle tournure. Cabal envoie un premier titre d’une intensité pure, et le rythme ne faiblit pas une seconde. Chaque morceau est une gifle, et le chanteur Andreas Paarup en profite pour déclarer son amour pour Paris, en appelant le public à se donner encore plus. La foule répond, pogo sur pogo, et ça mérite un 10/10 ! Le frontman demande qui les a déjà vus, les mains se lèvent en masse. Il passe le micro à un gars dans la fosse, qui hurle avec lui sur le dernier refrain. Nouvelle chanson ? Le public en redemande, et ça finit en circle pit. Fin de titre : ils demandent un split de la fosse, et Paris est au rendez-vous. C’est du chaos, mais c’est beau.

When Varials hit the stage, they cranked up the Chaos on the Péniche to new levels. Right from the start, the brutality took over, and the crowd synced up instantly. The pit went wild, with the first stage dive of the night kicking things off. A big “Thank you guys!” echoed, leading straight into an explosive feature. The vocalist, gripping the mic stand, threw in a clean vocal track that added a unique depth to the set. The highlight? The crowd went all out for the band’s flagship song, with a circle pit worthy of the biggest shows. Hats off to drummer Sean Rauchut for keeping up the insane pace, and as the cherry on top, To the Grave’s singer stormed in, masked, for a final feature. It was absolute chaos, mastered to perfection.

Quand Varials débarque, c’est pour intensifier ce Chaos sur la Péniche. Dès le départ, la brutalité prend le contrôle, et le public est tout de suite en phase. Ça se déchaîne à fond dans la fosse, et le premier slam de la soirée fait son entrée. Un grand « Thank you guys ! » résonne, suivi d’un feat explosif. Le chanteur, pied du micro en main, balance un morceau en voix claire, qui ajoute une profondeur unique au set. Le meilleur moment ? La fosse qui s’enflamme pour le morceau phare, avec un circle pit digne des plus grands shows. Admiratif du batteur Sean Rauchut qui tient la cadence, et cerise sur le gâteau : le chanteur de To the Grave débarque masqué pour un feat final. C’est le chaos absolu, maîtrisé à la perfection.

To close out the night, Signs of the Swarm took the stage and threw the Boat into an almost unreal chaos. Right from the first song, the crowd roared, and when they called for a circle pit, the energy surged. “Paris, open this fuckin’ pit!”, it was like a collective trance. We’re on a boat, but that didn’t stop frontman Dave Simonich from telling us to “turn this place upside down.” Circle pits and jumps followed each other in waves, then total darkness. When the lights came back on, the boat was rocking from everyone jumping, giving everything they had. Dave invited fans to lift their lights, a magical moment before the pure madness of back-to-back circle pits. A wall of death split the pit in two, unleashing pure metal chaos. After a jaw-dropping guitar solo, there was just one thing left: release all that pent-up energy in one final circle pit. Fans jumped from every direction, rocking the boat so hard it felt like seasickness was part of the show. To end, “Paris, make some noise for all the bands tonight!” One last blow to close the night: crowd-surfers, circle pits, and the vocalist diving into the pit. This night of Chaos on the Boat ended in an epic crescendo.

Pour clore la soirée, Signs of the Swarm monte sur scène et plonge la péniche dans un chaos presque irréel. Dès le premier morceau, le public hurle, et la demande de circle pit est accueillie avec enthousiasme. « Paris, open this fuckin’ pit ! » et c’est presque de la transe collective. On est sur une péniche, et ça n’empêche pas le chanteur Dave Simonich de nous demander de « retourner cette salle ». Les circle pits et les jumps s’enchaînent, et à un moment, l’obscurité totale. Quand les lumières reviennent, la péniche tangue sous les jumps, le public donne tout. Le frontman invite les fans à lever leurs lumières, un moment magique avant la folie pure qui suit avec un enchaînement de circle pits. Walk of Death pour sceller le tout, la fosse se scinde en deux dans un pur chaos métallique. Après un solo de guitare qui laisse la foule bouche bée, il ne reste plus qu’une chose : évacuer toute la mauvaise énergie dans un ultime circle pit. Les fans sautent de toutes parts, et ça jump tellement que le mal de mer est au rendez-vous. Pour finir, « Paris, faites du bruit pour tous les groupes de ce soir ! » Une ultime claque pour clore la soirée : crowdsurfers, circle pit, et le chanteur qui se jette dans la fosse. Cette soirée de chaos sur la Péniche se termine en apothéose.
