Catch Your Breath x Until I Wake

EN
The anticipation was sky-high on April 15, 2025, at Le Trabendo in Paris. The crowd was buzzing, ready to let loose in a packed, overheated venue. You could feel the energy building by the second. Two bands, two vibes, one mission: to tear the place apart. Spoiler alert : mission accomplished.

Spoiler alert : mission accomplie.

Until I Wake hit the stage out of nowhere with “Catacombs”. No warm-up, no build-up, straight to the point. The impact was instant, the tone was set.

By the second song, “Cold”, the frontman shouted a huge “PARIS, MAKE SOME NOISE!!!!” and the place went off. Hands flew up halfway through the track, clapping in sync with the drums. The entire pit was headbanging like crazy.

Before jumping into “Separate”, he dropped: “We are Until I Wake, we’re from New York, and we’re super excited to be here tonight to party with you all! Are you ready, Paris?” The crowd screamed back, shouting every word at the top of their lungs.

Then came the wildest moment: “F**k yeah Paris! We need even more energy, all of it!” and BOOM, “Octane” kicked in. Total chaos. Massive wall of death right from the intro. Hands down the song I was waiting for, and it absolutely delivered live. A straight-up banger.

Sinking Under” followed seamlessly, keeping the energy flowing. The cold blue/gray lighting gave off a chilling vibe that matched the track perfectly. The moshpit leveled up again, especially during the brutal scream sections. It was nasty, in the best way possible.

During “Renovate”, the singer yelled “Jump! Jump! Jump!” and the whole crowd did just that. The energy was insane, it hit like a freight train.

Then came “Inside My Head”: “Are you guys ready for Catch Your Breath?!” The crowd screamed “YESSS!” and clapped along at the start. Mid-song, the guitarist and bassist climbed on top of amps on opposite sides of the stage and split the pit wide open, sparking another violent circle. What a sight.

Before the final track, “Self Medicated”, the vocalist shouted “You guys are killing it tonight. We’ve got one more, I wanna hear you sing!” And just like that, the night’s first crowd surfer appeared. They took a quick photo with the crowd — wholesome moment alert. I’ll admit, the clean vocals without effects were a bit rough, but the screams? On point. Brutal. Perfect.

Avant “Separate”, il lâche : “We are Until I Wake, we’re from New York, and we’re super excited to be here tonight to party with you all! Are you ready, Paris?”,  le public hurle de joie, et crie les paroles à pleins poumons.

Puis vient “F**k yeah Paris! We need even more energy, all of it!” et c’est “Octane” qui déboule. Le chaos total. GROS wall of death dès l’intro.

Sinking Under” suit sans transition.

Avant le dernier morceau, “Self Medicated”, le chanteur lance “You guys are killing it tonight. We’ve got one more,  I wanna hear you sing!”

Quick stage change… and then Catch Your Breath steps in. And BOOM, the energy shifts into overdrive. From the very first notes of the intro, the crowd loses it. The second the band hits the stage, it’s pure explosion. Total chaos.

FR
Petit changement de plateau, et là… Catch Your Breath arrive. Total chaos.

First song: “Ghost Inside the Shell”. It kicks off with a tense, almost soft intro, but fists shoot up instantly. The singer’s rocking a coat and beanie even though it’s definitely not cold, which is kinda random but honestly hilarious. No one cares though, everyone’s locked in.

Then comes “Deadly”. He opens with a cheeky “Hello Paris!” (yes, in French) followed by “Paris, are you hot tonight or what?! I wanna hear you sing!” And boom, they launch into a filthy intro with a gnarly “BLEGH!” The whole venue is jumping, cups are flying, the pit’s going off. My photographer in the middle of it all is risking his gear (and life!) to capture the madness.

Before “Mirror”, the frontman takes a moment: “Paris, I don’t know if you’ve ever had to go through this, but I’ve had to change in my life… this song is called Mirror.” And then, wave after wave of crowd surfers. Unreal.

Next up: “Criminal”. “Paris, thank you for being here for our very first show in France. We’re from Texas and we’re so grateful!” You could feel how genuine it was, and the pit just wanted more. The energy kept rising.

Then “Perfect World” hits. He throws out: “I’ve got a question for you , how many of you are tired of this f**king world?” Huge reaction. During the rap section, the entire crowd sways their arms side to side in unison. Pure bliss.

Premier morceau : “Ghost Inside the Shell”.

Puis arrive “Deadly”. Il lance : “Bonjour Paris!” (en français) suivi de “Paris, are you hot tonight or what?! I wanna hear you sing!” et c’est parti.

Avant “Mirror”, le chanteur prend la parole : “Paris, I don’t know if you’ve ever had to go through this, but I’ve had to change in my life… this song is called Mirror.” Incroyable.

Criminal” vient ensuite. “Paris, thank you for being here for our very first show in France. We’re from Texas and we’re so grateful!”

Perfect World” démarre, et il lâche “I’ve got a question for you,  how many of you are tired of this f**king world?” Grosse clameur.

“21 Gun Salute” brought a more interactive moment. “Paris, where are the singers at tonight?!” the vocalist shouted, and the crowd went all in, clapping and singing the whole way through. Full-on party mode.

Then came one of the deepest moments of the night: “Good in Goodbye”. Before starting, the frontman said: “Before we start this one, I wanna talk to you. This song is very personal, it’s a reflection on the pain of acceptance and the emotional scars that remain, especially after losing someone you love.” And just like that, the venue lit up with phone flashlights. It was a suspended moment in time. He closed it with a simple, heartfelt “Thank you guys so much.”

But no time to wipe away the tears, “Savages” came crashing in. The crowd absolutely erupted. Even the sound guy in the back was screaming the lyrics and vibing hard behind the desk. The singer handed over a full chorus to the audience, pure electricity.

Cycles” followed, and it was go-time: “You’ve got one job, split that pit and raise hell!” No one hesitated. Before the final chorus, he added: “I wanna see every fist in the air!” and the whole room obeyed.

Then “Dial Tone”. “I love you guys so much! We’ve got two more songs, and we’re gonna have fun, believe me. Thank you for coming!” At this point, I had no voice left, and neither did the crowd. They let us carry the last chorus on our own. Goosebumps.

Second-to-last: “Shame On Me”. The crowd sang the opening before the vocalist even stepped in. “We love you guys, stay safe!” he shouted to wrap it up.

And just when it seemed over… the crowd went wild , screaming, stomping, chanting. Lights came back on for the encore: “Y.S.K.W.” “Paris, thank you so much!” the singer called out. One final blast of glorious chaos. Everyone screamed, jumped, and sang their lungs out. Even the lighting tech was going off at the back. Last crowd pic. Curtain drop. Chills.

FR
21 Gun Salute” est un moment plus participatif. “Paris, where are the singers at tonight?!” hurle-t-il,  et le public chante à fond, tape dans les mains tout le long du morceau. C’est la fête, puissance 10 000.

Puis vient “Good in Goodbye”, un des moments les plus profonds du concert. Avant de lancer le morceau, il dit : “Before we start this one, I wanna talk to you. This song is very personal,  it’s a reflection on the pain of acceptance and the emotional scars that remain, especially after losing someone you love.” Il conclut avec un sobre “Thank you guys so much.”

Grosse vibe.

Cycles” suit, et là : “You’ve got one job,  split that pit and raise hell!” Et évidemment, personne ne se fait prier. Pour le dernier refrain, il dit “I wanna see every fist in the air!”,  mission accomplie.

Puis “Dial Tone”. “I love you guys so much! We’ve got two more songs, and we’re gonna have fun, believe me. Thank you for coming!” Frissons.

Shame On Me”, l’avant-dernière. “We love you guys, stay safe!” hurle-t-il en finissant.

“Paris, thank you so much!” balance le chanteur. Rideau. Frissons.
