What a crazy week for Paris shows, Killswitch Engage hit the Bataclan the night before, and Atreyu tore up La Machine du Moulin Rouge. We barely had time to swap out our sweaty T-shirts before jumping right back into the pit. The funny part? You keep running into the same faces from the night before, just a little more wrecked each time.

Quelle semaine de fou au niveau des dates parisiennes, Killswitch Engage la veille au bataclan et Atreyu à la machine du moulin rouge, on a à peine le temps de changer de T-shirt qu’on retourne faire la bagarre. Ce qui est drôle avec tout ça c’est qu’on recroise des têtes de la veille avec quelques signes de fatigue en plus.

Doors opened at 7 PM, and not long after, Great American Ghost hit the stage with the tough job of kicking things off and firing up a crowd that was already packed in tight. I’d never listened to them before (hey, nobody’s perfect), but man, what a killer live discovery! From the very first tracks, their frontman went all in, and I’ve gotta hand it to him: for an opening act, he delivered an absolutely insane performance. The sound was massive, the vocals cut through like a blade, and Ettan Harrison didn’t hesitate to jump straight into the pit, screaming in the middle of a wall of death, crowd-surfing to the back just for the hell of it, and later telling everyone to swing by the merch table and say hi.

All in all, 40 minutes of pure enjoyment, heavy sound, good energy, and those positive vibes that remind you exactly why you fell in love with this kind of music in the first place.

Ouverture des portes à 19h suivit très rapidement du set de Great American Ghost qui on la tâche difficile d’ouvrir le concert et de chauffer la salle qui es déjà bien rempli. Je ne connaissais pas du tout le groupe (personne n’est parfait ok) et c’était une excellente découverte scénique ! Dès les 1ers morceaux le frontman ce donne et je me dois de lui accorder que pour ouvrir le concert il nous offre une prestation dantesque ! Le son est lourd, la voie perçante et monsieur Ettan Harrison n’hésite pas à descendre au coeur du Pitt chanter pendant un wall of death et à slamer jusqu’au fond juste parce que ça doit être rigolo (et nous insister à venir lui faire un coucou au merch). 

En Bref 40 Min de pur plaisir de part un son vraiment cool et une positive vibes qui m’as rappelé aussi pourquoi j’aimais ce genre de musique.

After a well-deserved break, the show kicked back in with After The Burial, and as expected, subtlety wasn’t on the menu. They came out swinging with an opening that instantly had everyone snarling and headbanging. The pit fired right back up, hotter than ever, and during tracks like Behold the Crown and Lost in the Static, you couldn’t help but wonder how we were supposed to survive another full set after this chaos.

Approved and certified: after about an hour and a half between the first two bands, I was already ready to drop dead in a corner, but nope, our British friends from Bleed From Within were about to hit the stage.

Après une pause bien méritée le concert reprend avec After The burial , qui si nous n’en doutions pas ne sont pas là pour faire dans la finesse avec une ouverture qui nous fais retrousser nos lèvres et bouger nos têtes. La bagarre reprend de plus belle le Pitt est vraiment chaud ce soir et sur des morceaux comme Behold the crown ou encore Lost in the Static on se demande comment nous allons réussir à tenir un set de plus. 

C’est Validé, âpres 1h30 de concert (les deux premiers groupes) j’ai déjà envie d’aller crever dans un coin mais non, nos amis Anglais de Bleed from Within ne devrait plus tarder.

Bleed From Within hit the stage around 9 PM with a hell of a blast beat, basically their way of saying ‘Hey, we’re here!’, kicking straight into Violent Nature from their latest album, followed by the title track Zenith. The sound needed a little tweaking at first, but by the third song, Sovereign, everything locked in perfectly, that’s also when the real chaos began (and when I realized I might be too old for this shit).

You could feel how stoked the band was to be there, the crowd singing I’m Damnation together clearly gave them wings. Without missing a beat, they jumped right into Stand Down, which is where I stopped taking notes to go act like a happy idiot with the rest of the pit crew.

A Hope in Hell closed out the first part of the set, phones lighting up the room for a calmer, almost emotional break, a brief breath in a venue completely electrified by our British friends.

Then they were right back at it with Crown of Misery, though I took the chance to hit the bar and catch my breath. From the back, I hadn’t realized how wild things were up front, and during Levitate, I noticed the crowd had been screaming every chorus since the start. I honestly thought it was a backing track. Nope, just pure fan energy.

We rolled into Night Crossing and wrapped up the second act with Dying Sun, complete with a drum solo intro that set a dark, heavy mood.

Then came the final stretch, heartfelt thanks, a bit of tenderness (hey, we’re all love here), but not for too long before diving headfirst into God Complex and Hand of Sin, leaving no mercy for even the grumpiest old dude in the pit. The crowd was singing, smiling, completely caught up in it, and the band was clearly feeding off that energy, hitting even harder.

The night came to a close with Edge of Infinity, The End of All We Know, and In Place of Your Halo, the perfect way to end an absolutely killer show.

Bleed From within arrive sur les coups de 9h avec un putain de blast (ouai histoire de dire coucou c’est nous) qui introduit Violent Nature morceau de leur dernier album suivit d’ailleurs de Zenith titre éponyme de ce dernier. Le son a besoin de quelques réglages mais ne tardera pas à être parfait sur le 3éme morceaux Sovereign qui signera réellement le début des hostilités ainsi que de mon point de côté (Je suis trop vieux pour ces conneries me dit-je). On ressent vraiment la joie qu’a le groupe d’être ici et de voir toute cette foule chanter ensemble I’m Damnation leurs a clairement fait pousser des ailes car sans transitions nous repartons sur Stand Down qui marque ici un arrêt de ma prise de note pour aller faire l’imbécile heureux avec mes congénères qui tourne en rond. 

A Hope in Hell marquera ici la fin de la 1ere partie du set, tout le monde à son téléphone pour créer une ambiance plus “calme” avec son flash, un petit break bienvenu dans cette salle complètement électrisée par nos amis Britannique. 

Le groupe repart sur Crown of Misery mais c’est l’heure pour moi d’aller faire un tour au bar pour reprendre des forces, de l’arrière je ne me rendait pas compte que ça bougeait fort un peu partout et Levitate me fera également remarqué que la foule hurle tous les refrains depuis le début , moi qui pensais que c’était juste un sample de coeurs et bien non , Bref on enchaine sur Nightcrossin et on termine cette seconde partie sur Dyin Sun qui ne manquera pas de nous faire plaisir avec un solo de batterie en guise d’introduction dans une ambiance pesante . 

Nous arrivons ici dans la dernière partie du set, les remerciements sont de mises, la tendresse également (bah oui nous ne sommes qu’amour) mais point trop n’en faut on repart très vite sur God Complex et Hand of Sin qui ne laisse aucune chance au plus aigri d’entre nous (oui tu sais le vieux ronchon-là qui râle parce que ça bouge dans la fosse), la foule chante, souris et s’émerveille à l’instar du groupe qui puise clairement dans cette énergie pour nous en mettre plein les oreilles. 

Le concert touche à sa fin avec Edge of infinity , The end of all we know et in place of your Halo qui cloture merveilleusement bien ce concert.

All in all, the show was everything I’d hoped for, one I definitely didn’t want to miss, and absolutely no regrets. The band’s modern sound hit perfectly, the mix was on point, and the stage setup, simple but effective, with those bone-themed visuals tying into the album art and some well-placed lighting, worked great. Everything was there for a perfect night: sweat, joy, and beautiful chaos.

En Bref comme attendu le concert étant vraiment bien, un événement que je ne voulais pas rater et je ne le regrette pas que ça soit sur le son moderne du groupe très bien balancer, la scénographie bien que simple était efficace (décors d’os faisant sens avec le design de l’album et quelques jeux de lumière) et l’ambiance. Tout étant présent pour passer un super moment dans la sueur, la joie et le chaos.
