Under a bright spring sky, the bands Profiler, The Gloom in The Corner and VENDED arrive at Le Petit Bain, the famous Parisian concert hall floating on the Seine. With beaming faces, they disembark from their vans, greeting the staff warmly and teasing each other from the outset. The atmosphere is relaxed and full of complicity, and each member seems delighted to be here, ready to give their fans an unforgettable evening.

The sound check quickly begins with Profiler taking to the stage. Their professional rigor is evident from the very first notes, with each member concentrating on adjusting their instruments and testing sound levels. Jokes fly between songs, but as soon as the music starts up again, seriousness returns immediately. Then it’s The Gloom in The Corner‘s turn on stage. Despite the jovial atmosphere, they display surgical precision, meticulously adjusting their scales. Finally, VENDED bring the rehearsals to a close with raw energy, the complicity between the musicians palpable.

The sound checks go off without a hitch, each band quickly finding the right sound. The room resounds with powerful chords and frenzied rhythms, giving a foretaste of the show to come.

Sous un ciel printanier éclatant, les groupes Profiler, The Gloom in The Corner et VENDED arrivent au Petit Bain, la célèbre salle de concert parisienne flottant sur la Seine. Les visages rayonnants, ils descendent de leurs vans, saluant chaleureusement le personnel et se taquinant mutuellement dès les premiers instants. L’atmosphère est détendue et chargée de complicité, chaque membre semble ravi d’être là, prêt à faire vivre une soirée inoubliable à leurs fans.

Les balances commencent rapidement avec Profiler qui s’installe sur scène. Leur rigueur professionnelle se manifeste dès les premières notes, chaque membre se concentrant pour ajuster ses instruments et tester les niveaux sonores. Les blagues fusent entre les morceaux, mais dès que la musique reprend, le sérieux revient immédiatement. Vient ensuite le tour de The Gloom in The Corner de monter sur scène. Malgré l’ambiance joviale, ils affichent une précision chirurgicale, réglant minutieusement leurs balances. Pour finir, VENDED clôture les répétitions avec une énergie brute, la complicité entre les musiciens étant palpable.

Les balances se déroulent sans accroc, chaque groupe trouvant rapidement le bon son. La salle résonne des accords puissants et des rythmes endiablés qui donnent un avant-goût du spectacle à venir.

After these intense but fruitful rehearsals, it’s time for dinner. Members of the three groups gather around a large table, savoring simple but delicious dishes, exchanging laughter and anecdotes. Conversations flow freely, from tour memories to jokes about each other’s misadventures. The atmosphere is that of a reunited family, far from the outside world.

At the end of the meal, Connor, VENDED‘s guitarist, retires for a moment to retrieve his fishing rod. With a mischievous grin, he heads for the back of the barge, a charming feature of Le Petit Bain. He confides that fishing is a passion born in the American countryside where he grew up, an almost sacred activity for him. He sits quietly, watching the peaceful waters of the Seine, hoping to catch something.

Unfortunately for Connor, fishing that evening proved fruitless. All he reels in is an old Covid mask, covered in mud. He bursts out laughing as he shows it to his classmates, who tease him gently about his “catch”. Despite everything, this moment of calm before the concert is a way for him to recharge his batteries.

Après ces répétitions intenses mais fructueuses, l’heure du dîner arrive. Les membres des trois groupes se retrouvent autour d’une grande table, savourant des plats simples mais délicieux, échangeant rires et anecdotes. Les conversations vont bon train, allant des souvenirs de tournée aux plaisanteries sur les mésaventures de chacun. L’ambiance est celle d’une famille réunie, loin des regards extérieurs.

À la fin du repas, Connor, le guitariste de VENDED, se retire un moment pour récupérer sa canne à pêche. Avec un sourire malicieux, il se dirige vers l’arrière de la péniche, une particularité charmante du Petit Bain. Il nous confie que la pêche est une passion née dans les campagnes américaines où il a grandi, une activité presque sacrée pour lui. Il s’installe tranquillement, observant l’eau paisible de la Seine, espérant attraper quelque chose.

Malheureusement pour Connor, la pêche ce soir-là se révèle infructueuse. Tout ce qu’il remonte est un vieux masque Covid, couvert de boue. Il éclate de rire en le montrant à ses camarades, qui ne manquent pas de le taquiner gentiment sur sa “prise”. Malgré tout, cet instant de calme avant le concert est pour lui une manière de se ressourcer.

Petit Bain venue is now packed to the rafters, and the excitement of the fans is palpable. The lights go down, plunging the room into darkness before the first chords of Profiler ring out. The band opens the evening with the track Hello yes it’s, which makes everyone agree. These three young men from Bristol deliver refreshing Nu Metal of the highest quality! They follow up with tracks such as “Identify”, “Operator” and “Animo“, and demonstrate their boundless energy, with every note electrifying the audience. Mike‘s vocals are top-notch, and Oscar on drums impresses with his great mastery. They all seem very young and casual at first, but there’s no doubt that they’re hard workers, given the musical quality they offer! They are very communicative with the audience, who are very receptive to what they have to offer. Their set ended with the excellent track “Zero“. For me, who didn’t know this band before, this is a truly wonderful discovery. By the way, Simon (Vended‘s drummer) stayed on the side of the stage the whole time to move to the beat!

La salle du Petit Bain est maintenant pleine à craquer, l’excitation des fans est palpable. Les lumières s’éteignent, plongeant la salle dans l’obscurité avant que les premiers accords de Profiler ne retentissent. Le groupe ouvre la soirée avec le titre Hello yes it’s, qui met tout le monde d’accord. Ces jeunes hommes au nombre de trois, originaires de Bristol, proposent un Nu Metal rafraîchissant de grande qualité! Ils enchaînent avec des titres comme “Identify“, “Operator” et “Animo “et démontrent une énergie débordante, chaque note électrise le public. La voix Mike et de qualité et Oscar à la batterie , l’impression par sa grande maîtrise, ils semblent tous très jeune et désinvolte au premier abord, mais nul doute que ce sont des bosseurs au vu de la qualité musicale qu’ils nous proposent! Ils sont très communiquant avec le public qui est très réceptif à leur proposition. Leur set se conclu sur l’excellent titre: « Zero ». Pour moi qui ne connaissait pas ce groupe, c’est véritablement une très belle découverte. D’ailleurs Simon (batteur de Vended) est resté tout le long sur le côté de scène pour bouger en rythme!

The Gloom in The Corner then take over, plunging the room into a dark and intense atmosphere. Mikey does us the honor of speaking in French to introduce his band and tell us how happy they are to be here in Paris, apologizing for his French, which isn’t so bad. It starts off nicely…for the first 30 seconds, and then you get an uppercut in the face. Their performance is captivating, each track telling a story, transporting the audience into their unique universe. It’s a constant slap in the face, and every time you think you’re going to get two seconds to breathe, they’re back in the pit with another layer of madness.

I must emphasize the charisma of Jesse, the guitarist, who is constantly moving in all directions while mastering his instrument perfectly. When he took to the stage, he pointed his guitar like a machine gun at the audience, and it’s clear that he’s been throwing out killer riffs from the start of the set, the message was clear from the start. The crowd screamed with enthusiasm between songs, and moshpit and jumped with excitement throughout the set.

Simon (Vended‘s drummer) was on hand throughout the set, taking photos, moving to the beat and even helping the drummer dismantle his drum kit. There’s no doubt he represents the spirit of brotherhood to perfection!

The Gloom in The Corner prend ensuite le relais, plongeant la salle dans une ambiance sombre et intense. Mikey nous fait l’honneur de s’exprimer en français pour présenter son groupe et nous dire à quel point ils sont contents d’être ici à Paris, il s’excuse pour son français qui n’est pourtant pas si mauvais. Ça commence gentiment …les 30 premières secondes et après on se prend un uppercut dans la gueule. Leur performance est captivante, chaque morceau racontant une histoire, transportant les spectateurs dans leur univers unique. Ce sont des grosses claques dans la gueule, constantes, à chaque fois que tu crois que tu vas avoir le temps de souffler deux secondes, ils en remettent une couche en fosse c’est la folie.

Je suis obligé de souligner le charisme de Jesse, guitariste, qui bouge constamment dans tous les sens tout en maîtrisant parfaitement son instrument, quand il est monté sur scène, il a pointé sa gratte tel une mitraillette en direction du public, force est de constater qu’il nous balance des riffs assassins depuis le début du set, le message était clair dès le début. Le public cri d’enthousiasme entre chaque morceau, et ça moshpit énervé, ça jump tout le long du set.

Simon (batteur de Vended) est resté tout le long du set à faire des photos et bouger en rythme et aide même le batteur à démonter sa batterie, nul doute qu’il représente à la perfection l’esprit de fraternité! 

Everyone in the room sings along to Soft Cell‘s “Tainted Love“, which puts the audience in a great mood, while in the dressing room they imitate crows’ cries by way of vocalization, all between two giggles and strumming of strings.

Dans la salle tout le monde chante en cœur sur “Tainted Love” de Soft Cell, ce qui met le public dans un super mood, pendant qu’en loge ça imite des hurlements de corbeaux en guise de vocalise, le tout entre deux fou rire, et grattements de cordes.

At last, Vended take to the stage, setting off a wave of enthusiastic shouts. Their set kicks off with the title track “Nihilism“, which immediately gets everyone on the same wavelength, and it’s Moshpits from the very first seconds! On “Am I The Only One“, Griffin yells out “get moving in the pit, we want to know how crazy you are in Paris”, and of course the audience complies in a fraction of a second! Before starting “Burn My Misery“, Cole (guitarist) shouts to his bandmates that “it’s fucking hot in here”, and indeed, the ceiling and walls are dripping with the stifling heat and everyone is sweating! By the end of this track, the crowd is jumping up and down, so much so that I can feel it reassuring to feel the barge jiggle so much! Before starting “Where The Honesty Lies“, Griffin goes shirtless, because of this damn heat, his warrior paintings have almost all disappeared because of the sweat, but that doesn’t stop him from sending us warrior growls! This set is a blast of power, with Connor at the top of his game despite his unsuccessful fishing. 

Before starting their final encore song: “Asylum“, Griffin asks the audience for a favor: “turn this room over to me”. The atmosphere is now more than overexcited, and all inhibitions fall away in a joyous mess, with drummer Simon throwing his sticks in the air to catch them directly behind and hit them hard, it’s fascinating.

Enfin, Vended monte sur scène, déclenchant une vague de cris enthousiastes. Leur set  démarre avec le titre “Nihilism” qui met de suite tout le monde d’accord et ça Moshpits dès les premières secondes! Sur le titre “Am I The Only One“, Griffin hurle « bougez vous dans le pit, on veut savoir à quel point vous êtes fou à Paris » évidemment le public s’exécute en une fraction de seconde! Avant de démarrer Burn My Misery, Cole (guitariste) cri à ses compères que « bordel il fait super chaud ici » et effet c’est vrai que putain, le plafond et les murs dégoulinent tellement la chaleur est étouffante et que tous transpirent! A la fin de ce morceau la fosse jump dans tous les sens, à tel point que je le sens moyen rassurer de sentir la péniche gigoter autant!!! Avant de débuter “Where The Honesty Lies“, Griffin se met torse nu, à cause de cette foutu chaleur, ses peintures de guerriers ont quasi toutes disparu à cause de la transpiration, mais c’est pas ça qui l’empêche de nous envoyer à la tronche des growl de guerrier! Ce set est une déferlante de puissance, avec Connor au sommet de son art malgré sa pêche infructueuse. 

Avant d’entamer leur dernière chanson de rappel: “Asylum“, Griffin demande une faveur au public « retournez moi cette salle », l’ambiance est alors plus que survoltée et toutes les inhibitions tombent dans un joyeux bordel, le batteur, Simon envoie ses baguettes en l’air pour les rattraper direct derrière et taper fort, c’est fascinant.

After the concert, Jeremiah (bass) sits down on the edge of the stage for photos and autographs, while Griffin goes straight out onto the outside of the barge to do the same, while all the other members of all the bands land at the merchandising tables. Finally, the hall is evacuated, and the musicians find themselves backstage, still bathed in the euphoria of the evening. As for the fans, they leave with stars in their eyes and memories in their heads. The bands congratulate each other, sharing a final round of jokes.

And so ends a day rich in music, friendship and unique moments. Profiler, The Gloom in The Corner and Vended, three bands united by their passion and complicity, offered much more than a concert: a truly shared experience. Spécial The to Veryshow!

Après le concert, Jeremiah (basse) s’assied sur le bord de scène pour se prêter au jeu des photos et des autographes pendant que Griffin sort de suite à l’extérieur de la péniche pour en faire de même, pendant que tous les autres membres de tous les groupes atterrissent aux tables de merchandising. Puis finalement la salle est évacuée et les musiciens se retrouvent en coulisses, encore baignés dans l’euphorie de la soirée. Les fans, quant à eux, repartent des étoiles plein les yeux, des souvenirs plein la tête. Les groupes se félicitent mutuellement, partageant une dernière série de blagues.

Ainsi se termine une journée riche en musique, en amitié et en moments uniques. Profiler, The Gloom in The Corner et Vended, trois groupes unis par leur passion et leur complicité, ont offert bien plus qu’un concert : une véritable expérience partagée. Un merci tout particulier à Veryshow!!
