King Yosef finally hits French soil with Violence

King Yosef mixes industrial metal, hardcore and trap, and wreaks havoc wherever he goes. After performances in Japan and a U.S. tour, King Yosef finally hits French soil, accompanied by Violence, who blend metal, hardcore and dubstep, and whose musical reputation speaks for itself.

King Yosef mêle du métal industriel, du hardcore et de la trap et ravage tout sur son passage. Après des performances au Japon et une tournée aux États-Unis, il foule enfin le sol français, accompagné de Violence qui mélange métal, hardcore et dubstep, et dont la réputation musicale parle d’elle-même.

The guys from Violence arrive with smiles on their faces, while King Yosef looks very tired.

Each band visits the dressing rooms and settles down, so I take the opportunity to take the temperature.

The guys from Violence talk about the fact that their drummer (Morgan) isn’t here tonight, saying that this absence means a loss of impact and staging, but that in the end it’ll be more indus and that’s just as interesting.

As for King Yosef, he tells me that he’s very tired, but that once he’s on stage he’ll have all his energy back, so he’s going to preserve himself by resting in the dressing room. He also tells me that this morning he went to visit the Louvres because he wanted to see the Mona Lisa, and that made him laugh a lot because all the tourists were jostling to see the work.

Les gars du groupe de Violence arrivent avec le smile aux lèvres et King Yosef semble quant à lui très fatigué.

Chacun des groupes visitent les loges et se posent,  je profite de ce moment pour prendre la température.

Les gars de Violence parlent du fait que leur batteur (Morgan) n’est pas là ce soir, ils évoquent le fait que cette absence peut faire perdre de l’impact et de la mise en scène mais qu’au final ce sera plus indus et que c’est aussi intéressant.

King Yosef lui, m’explique qu’il est est très fatigué mais qu’une fois qu’il sera sur scène il retrouvera toute son énergie, qu’il va donc se préserver en se reposant en loge. Il me raconte également que ce matin il a été visiter le Louvres parce qu’il voulait voir Mona Lisa, et ça l’a fait beaucoup rire car tous les touristes se bousculaient pour voir l’œuvre, ils ont fait les touristes d’où la fatigue.

King Yosef‘s sound check session went off without a hitch. The drums were quickly set to perfection, and the guitar and electro instruments followed without a hitch. The singer, King Yosef himself, suddenly seemed to be in top form, exuding impressive energy.

Despite a slight problem with Fred‘s microphone cable, which was quickly solved thanks to the efficient intervention of the technical team. Fabio, the guitarist, told the sound engineer that no treatment of the singer’s voice (John) was necessary, not even reverb. He stayed by the console to meticulously adjust the sound in the room, ensuring optimal audio quality for the concert to come.

La session de balances de King Yosef s’est déroulée de manière efficace. La batterie a rapidement été réglée à la perfection, la guitare et les instruments électro ont suivi sans accroc. Le chanteur, King Yosef lui-même, semblait soudainement être en pleine forme, dégageant une énergie impressionnante.

Malgré un léger problème de câble de micro pour Fred, de violence, celui-ci a été rapidement résolu, grâce à une intervention efficace de l’équipe technique. Fabio, le guitariste, a précisé à l’ingénieur son qu’aucun traitement sur la voix du chanteur (John) n’était nécessaire, pas même de reverb. Il est resté près de la console pour ajuster minutieusement le son dans la salle, assurant ainsi une qualité audio optimale pour le concert à venir.

Well-deserved meal break for all the technical crew and the bands, except for John (violence vocals) who tells me he can’t eat before going on stage. He says he wants to feel light and eat after the show, and King Yosef doesn’t eat either, preferring to rest.

Pause repas bien mérité pour toute l’équipe technique ainsi que les groupes, excepté pour John (chant violence)  qui me dit ne pas parvenir à manger avant de monter sur scène, il dit vouloir de sentir léger et manger après le show, King Yosef lui non plus ne mange pas, il préfère se reposer.

Violence take to the stage and kick off their set with “The Rising”, which is a DIRECT slap in the face! King Yosef, who is at the side of the room, is having a blast, as is the whole audience!  It’s heavy and impacting, it’s Violence, and the band’s name is so aptly named!!! 

Tracks like “My Fate” and “Wolves” follow on from one another, and the intensity and energy in the pit increases. As usual, John impresses me with his energy and vocal qualities, and Fred and Fabio are not to be outdone either.

There’s nothing shy or sweet about Violence, just uppercuts to the face every 10 seconds! The set ends with the excellent “Burn It”!

As they leave the stage, the band debrief their performance, saying that the fact that their drummer wasn’t there made them feel a bit naked, but they enjoyed themselves, and King Yosef tells them that it’s hard to get past them, which proves the quality of the set and the spirit of brotherhood present!

Violence débarque sur scène et débute leur set avec « The Rising » ce qui met une claque DIRECT! King Yosef qui est sur le côté de la salle s’enjaille comme tout le public!  C’est lourd et impactant c’est Violence, le groupe porte si bien son nom !!! 

Les titres comme « My Fate » ou « Wolves » s’enchaînent et dans la fosse ça monte en intensité et en énergie. Comme à son habitude John m’impressionne par son énergie et ses qualités vocales, Fred et Fabio ne sont pas en reste non plus.

Rien de timide ou de gentillet avec Violence, ça t’envoie juste des uppercuts dans la tronche toutes les 10 secondes! Le set se termine par l’excellent « Burn It »!

Sortie de scène: le groupe débrief de leur performance, ils expriment que le fait que leur batteur n’était pas présent, à fait qu’ils se sont senti un peu nu, mais ils ont kiffé et King Yosef leur dit que c’est difficile de passer après eux, ce qui prouve la qualité du set et de l’esprit de fraternité présent!

The stage manager begins a short discussion with the band to find out how they wanted to kick off their set, so it’s decided to go completely dark.

The band kicks off their set with the track “Cut the Cord”, but a false start occurs due to a problem with the keyboard pedal connection, which is quickly resolved. Despite this, the energy is palpable from the second track, “The Dull Blade”. Singer Tayves Yosef expresses his joy at being in France for the first time, appreciating Paris for its architecture, cuisine and friendly people, triggering an instant moshpit.

Tracks like “Shames of Mirror” and “Drift Below” follow one another, shaking the walls of the hall. Tayves Yosef delivers his rage into the microphone, while the industrial aspect of their music bites like a snake. The pit is in a frenzy, carried away by unconventional musical structures, charged with darkness, hatred and despair. All in all, total chaos in the pit, with absentees surely biting their fingers off.

The set concludes with “An Underlying Hum”, but the audience wants more, cheering the band on. Tayves return to the stage to announce that they have no more songs to play. No matter, they decide to play their first song of the evening again. The keyboardist/guitarist throws himself into the pit, triggering the most enraged moshpit of the evening.

In short, it was a wild, intense and fucking brutal set, and there’s no doubt that King Yosef will continue to grow and expand his audience!

Le régisseur entame une petite discussion avec le groupe pour savoir comment ils souhaitaient lancer le set, le noir complet est donc décidé.

Le groupe lance son set avec le titre « Cut the Cord », mais un faux départ survient en raison d’un problème de branchement de pédale au clavier qui sera très vite resolu. Malgré cela, l’énergie est palpable dès le deuxième titre, « The Dull Blade ». Tayves Yosef, le chanteur, exprime sa joie d’être en France pour la première fois, appréciant Paris pour son architecture, sa cuisine et ses habitants sympathiques, déclenchant ainsi un moshpit instantané.

Les morceaux comme « Shames of Mirror » et « Drift Below » s’enchaînent, secouant les murs de la salle. Tayves Yosef délivre sa rage dans le micro, tandis que l’aspect industriel de leur musique mord comme un serpent. La fosse est en pleine frénésie, se laissant emporter par des structures musicales non conventionnelles, chargées de noirceur, de haine et de désespoir. En somme, un chaos total en fosse dont les absents doivent sûrement se mordre les doigts.

Le set se conclut avec « An Underlying Hum », mais le public en redemande, acclamant le groupe. Tayves remonte sur scène pour exprimer qu’ils n’ont plus de chansons à jouer. Qu’à cela ne tienne, ils décident de rejouer leur premier titre de la soirée. Le claviériste/guitariste se jette alors dans la fosse, déclenchant le moshpit le plus enragé de la soirée.

En bref c’était un set sauvage, intense et putain de brutal et nul doute que King Yosef ne va cesser de grandir et d’agrandir son public!

There’s a long queue at the merch, and the faces of both the bands and the audience are satisfied, with everyone taking the time to talk and take photos.

As for me, I have to admit that this choice of bands seemed so pertinent that it was in the end the obvious choice, and that I spent a particularly great day and evening!

C’est la queue au merch et les visages sont satisfait tant du côté des groupes que du côté des gens du public et chacun prend le temps de parler et de faire des photos.

Je dois avouer quant à moi, que ce choix de plateau m’a semblé tellement pertinent que c’était au final l’évidence même et que j’ai passé une journée et une soirée particulièrement  géniale !
